Teddy Swims is laying bare the unvarnished truth about his financial journey. The "Lose Control" singer offered a candid glimpse into the earnings from his concerts since he first stepped onto the music scene, underscoring that his ascent to success was far from instantaneous. "I'm doing pretty well," he remarked during an interview on the Australian radio program Triple M’s Rush Hour, which aired on October 12. "Let me put it this way: last year marked the first time we surpassed the break-even point on touring, meaning I actually turned a profit for the first time last year."

Yet, while Teddy (born Jaten Collin Dimsdale) proudly announced he was finally "in the black," he stressed that profitability from his performances was not an overnight achievement. "It took five years of relentless touring before we truly began to see any significant returns," he elaborated. "A lot of folks assume that if you're performing in arenas, you're rolling in dough, but more often than not, we were just scraping by, if we were lucky."

Still, the 33-year-old musician likened his touring endeavors to running a business, highlighting that it took considerable time to "cultivate an audience." "I reckon we made around $20,000 last year," he estimated, "but everyone got paid, and everyone was well-fed, so I'd call that a success... In the next couple of years, I'll be truly 'swimming' in success."

Teddy's financial evolution isn't the only transformation in his life on the road. The Grammy-nominated artist became a first-time father when his girlfriend, Raiche Wright, welcomed their baby boy in June—and the adjustment of leaving his newborn behind to resume touring was a heart-wrenching ordeal. "When we boarded the bus to leave, I was just a sobbing, tequila-sipping mess," Teddy confessed to The Sun in July. "My tour manager was like, 'Dude, you've got to cut back on the tequila, or you've got to rein in the tears. This isn't a healthy way to kick off a tour.'"

Despite the demands of his career that necessitate extensive travel, the singer is wholeheartedly embracing the new chapter of parenthood amidst his hectic life. "I'm thrilled to watch him grow," he beamed. "I feel incredibly blessed and grateful for everything I have in my life."
