The captivating miniseries 'His & Hers,' inspired by the pages of Alice Feeney's novel, will showcase Tessa Thompson's next stellar performance on Netflix. The star of 'Thor: Love and Thunder' will not only take on a lead role but also serve as an executive producer for this limited series. This six-episode drama marks Thompson's return to the small screen since the conclusion of 'Westworld' on HBO in 2022.
The masterful trio of William Oldroyd (known for 'Lady Macbeth'), Bill Dubuque ('Ozark'), and Dee Johnson ('Fellow Travelers') have penned the script, which transplants the novel's British backdrop to the vibrant city of Atlanta. Oldroyd will helm the opening episode, while Johnson assumes the role of showrunner.
The series is a collaboration between Fifth Season and Jessica Chastain's Freckle Films, who secured the rights to Feeney's book shortly after its 2020 publication. Thompson will embody Anna, a woman shrouded in solitude, her journalistic career and friendships fading into the distance. However, when whispers of a murder in Dahlonega, the idyllic town of her youth, filter through, Anna is jolted into action, determined to solve the case and uncover the truth. Detective Jack Harper, however, casts a suspicious eye on her involvement, dragging her into the vortex of his own investigation. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that there are two versions of the truth: his and hers, leaving us to wonder who's telling the lie.
Oldroyd, Dubuque, Johnson, and Thompson (through her Viva Maude production company) will join Kristen Campo of Campout Productions, Chastain, Kelly Carmichael of Freckle Films, and Kishori Rajan of Viva Maude as executive producers, ensuring that 'His & Hers' will be a must-watch miniseries.
