The long-awaited soundtrack for the captivating series "Heated Rivalry" has finally arrived. This 34-track album, featuring the score composed by Peter, was released at midnight local time on Friday. It marks Peter's debut as a composer, and he was hired by the show's creator and showrunner, Jacob Tierney, after the writer was deeply impressed by Peter's previous solo works during the series' preproduction phase.

The soundtrack, released by Milan Records, boasts a diverse range of tracks that cater to different moments in the show. From tender melodies that evoke feelings of yearning to upbeat, techno-infused tunes that accompany the heart-pounding scenes, it perfectly complements the emotional journey of "Heated Rivalry." Although the release is strictly digital on Friday, the label has announced that physical formats – both CD and vinyl – will be available later this year.

The music of "Heated Rivalry," including both the score and songs used in the show, has been a trending topic online. Tierney's decision to use T.A.T.u.'s 2002 anthem "All The Things She Said" as a major needle drop resulted in a 135% increase in Spotify streams in the U.S. in the week following its appearance in an episode. Similarly, British artist Harrison's remix of the show, also featured in the same sequence, witnessed a staggering 139,000% increase in global streams on Spotify from Dec. 12 to Dec. 24.

"Heated Rivalry," which hails from Canadian streamer Crave and airs on HBO Max in the U.S., centers around a fictional hockey universe based on books by Rachel Reid. The show follows two rival professional players – Canada-born Shane Hollander (played by Williams) of the fictitious Montreal Metros and Russia-born Ilya Rozanov (played by Storrie) of the fictitious Boston Raiders – as they navigate their near-decade-long situationship turned relationship.

Crave has renewed "Heated Rivalry" for a second season, and HBO Max has confirmed that it will continue to air the series. Earlier this week, Reid announced that she'll be publishing her seventh book in the "Game Changers" series, which "Heated Rivalry" and its sequel "The Long Game" belong to. The book, "Unrivaled," will be the next chapter in Shane and Ilya's story.
