We now have a definitive date marked on the calendar for the return of "The Summer I Turned Pretty," as Prime Video announces Wednesday, July 16th, as the premiere date for Season 3 of its beloved YA series. This highly anticipated final season, comprising 11 episodes, will make its exclusive debut on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Below, you'll find new teaser artwork, with previously released first-look photos available here.
"The Summer I Turned Pretty" is rooted in Jenny Han's bestselling book trilogy, with each season drawing inspiration from one of the novels: "The Summer I Turned Pretty" (2009), "It’s Not Summer Without You" (2010), and "We’ll Always Have Summer" (2011). This multigenerational drama revolves around a captivating love triangle involving the protagonist, Belly (played by Lola Tung), and two brothers, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). It also delves into the ever-changing dynamics between mothers and their children, as well as the enduring strength of deep female friendships. It's a heartfelt coming-of-age tale that celebrates first love, first heartbreak, and the enchanting magic of that one unforgettable summer.
The series has been a resounding success for Prime Video. Season 1 premiered in the summer of 2022, swiftly becoming the platform's top show during its premiere weekend. Season 2 followed in the summer of 2023, more than doubling Season 1's viewership within just three days of its release.
Serving as showrunners and executive producers are Han and Sarah Kucserka, alongside Karen Rosenfelt. Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Mads Hansen from wiip also executive produce. The series is a co-production of Amazon Studios and wiip.
