'The Voice' Goes With 4 Familiar Coaches for Season 28

Published: May 13 2025

It comes as no shock that "The Voice" is gearing up for its 28th season this fall on NBC, and the excitement among fans has reached a crescendo as the coaching lineup has been unveiled. Earlier in spring, the thrilling news broke that Snoop Dogg would reclaim his seat in the iconic red swivel chairs, having taken a brief hiatus during Season 27, thereby leaving just three coaching positions to be filled. According to NBC's announcement on May 12, Snoop will be joined by Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, and Niall Horan. McEntire, who previously served as a coach from Seasons 24 to 26, is already well-acquainted with the rapper, making their reunion all the more anticipated. Bublé, who made his debut in Season 26 alongside Snoop and McEntire, is returning for his third consecutive season. Horan, of One Direction fame, has previously graced the show's stages during Seasons 23 and 24. The one constant amidst all these changes is host Carson Daly, who has been an unwavering presence since the series' inception.

However, "The Voice" will face a slight adjustment this fall, as NBC has committed to broadcasting NBA games, reducing the show's airtime by an hour. The scheduling might seem somewhat perplexing, but "Deadline" has painstakingly broken down the calendar for eager fans. The series will kick off with two-hour episodes on Mondays and Tuesdays in September. But once the NBA season commences, the schedule takes a twisty turn. The first Tuesday of the fall season marks the grand finale of "America’s Got Talent," followed by three weeks of "The Voice" airing on Tuesday nights before the NBA takes over, shifting the show's sole broadcast to Monday nights. "It will commence as a two-hour spectacle on Monday nights but will eventually scale down to one hour when NBC premieres its comedies," the media outlet elaborated. Viewers can anticipate approximately "six weeks of two-hour episodes on Mondays" before the transition to the one-hour format commences.

Moreover, NBC hinted that "The Voice" might reclaim a few Tuesday episodes in December, contingent upon the NBA schedule, which is still in the works.
