Timothée Chalamet has played a slew of transformative roles, but could one of them be as an underground British rapper? For months, fans of the Marty Supreme star have been wondering if he secretly doubles as the viral rapper EsDeeKid, who performs with his face largely concealed and remains tight-lipped about any personal details.
During a recent appearance on the British radio program Heart Breakfast to promote his latest movie, Chalamet, 29, was asked point-blank if EsDeeKid was his alter ego. His response was cryptic: "I got no comment on that. No, I mean, I got no comment," he said with a hint of a smile.

When the hosts pointed out the similarities in their eyes and even mentioned a photo of them both wearing the same skull scarf, the actor played coy once again. "I've got two words on that," he said, hesitating and stumbling over his words before breaking into a mischievous smile. "Two words: All will be revealed in due time. That was a little more than two words."
Chalamet then joked about his high school alter ego Lil Timmy Tim, referencing a viral video from 2012 that features him rapping spectacularly at an event at his high school in New York City. "Let me tell you, Lil Timmy does not have the same ring to it," he said with a laugh.
Rumors about Chalamet being EsDeeKid started swirling earlier this year, mostly due to the similarities in their eyes. The actor fueled the flames further when he showed up to a Fakemink show in London in August, as Fakemink appears on EsDeeKid's song "LV Sandals."
Little is known about EsDeeKid, who performs with a balaclava over his face and claims to be from Liverpool. He released his debut album Rebel in June and has more than 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify, though his real name and age are unknown.
Meanwhile, Chalamet has been open for years about his love of hip-hop and rap music, naming stars like Kid Cudi and Nicki Minaj as favorites. In 2020, he even appeared on Saturday Night Live in a sketch with Pete Davidson playing a rapper named $mokecheddathaassgetta.
Currently promoting his new film Marty Supreme, which opens in theaters on Dec. 25, Chalamet stepped out at the film's Los Angeles premiere on Dec. 8 with girlfriend Kylie Jenner in matching orange outfits, adding to the mystery of whether he truly is EsDeeKid or not.
