Tish Cyrus Addresses Unfollowing Daughter Miley Cyrus Amid Feud Rumors

Published: May 09 2025

There must be some mysterious force at play, as Miley Cyrus' mother, Tish Cyrus, certainly didn't intentionally unfollow her daughter. When it seemed like Tish had unfollowed the "Flowers" singer on Instagram, the host of Sorry We're Cyrus swiftly quashed any budding rumors of a rift. Responding to a concerned fan's inquiry about her social media activity beneath a May 7 Instagram post, Tish clarified, "I'm not sure how that happened, but it's all sorted out now!" She further elaborated in a separate social media update later. "I would never dream of unfollowing Miley; she and I are as close as we've ever been," Tish penned on May 8, adding, "End of story. Love you, Little."

Miley's fans, of course, are well-aware that she and Tish share an unbreakable bond of true friendship. In fact, Miley had previously revealed in a June 2024 episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction that her parents, Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus, had an incalculable influence on her life. She emphasized, "My mom is, honestly, my hero."

Miley has gone above and beyond to express her affection for Tish. In 2019, the Hannah Montana veteran released a song titled "Mother's Daughter" as a tribute to Tish and even featured her in the accompanying music video. Announcing the video on Instagram, Miley wrote, "BOSS LADY! Momager, Producer, Interior Designer, Fashion Icon, who defies time and age—the most awesome mom ever!"

Indeed, Tish, who is also the mother of Brandi (37), Trace (36), Braison (30), and Noah (25) with her ex-husband Billy Ray, has been a pivotal figure in Miley's career since its inception, serving as her manager and helping her stay grounded. "To be honest, my ultimate goal was to keep Miley under my roof for as long as possible, and my deepest fear was her moving out," Tish confessed on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. "She could have easily afforded to move out before turning 18. You see that happening a lot with kids in Hollywood, but she didn't."

While Tish admitted to "choosing her battles" while parenting Miley during the peak of her Disney fame, she wouldn't change a single thing. As she put it, "She was always home."
