Toronto Restaurant Says ‘Star Trek’ Actor Zachary Quinto “Yelled At Our Staff Like an Entitled Child”

Manita, a renowned Canadian restaurant, took to Instagram to share their encounter with Zachary Quinto, a well-known actor from the Star Trek franchise. In their candid post, they wrote, "Criticism is a part of our trade, but we draw the line at being humiliated."

On Monday, Manita lashed out at Zachary Quinto on Instagram, accusing him of behaving like "an entitled brat" towards their staff. The restaurant's post read, "Zachary Quinto - a brilliant Spock on screen, but a thoroughly disagreeable customer in real life. He screamed at our staff like a spoiled child after ignoring two texts informing him his table was ready. Despite polite reminders that the empty tables in our dining room were reserved, he refused to believe it. His outburst left our host in tears and disrupted the peaceful brunch for other diners."

Quinto portrayed the iconic character of Spock in the rebooted Star Trek franchise, starring in the 2009 film and its sequels, Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and Star Trek Beyond (2016).

The restaurant's message continued, addressing Quinto directly, "Mr. Quinto, your negative vibes are not welcome here. Many beloved celebrities have dined at Manita, but you are certainly not one of them. Your behavior is unacceptable."

The original post was a screenshot of an Instagram story that the restaurant had uploaded on Sunday. Accompanying the screenshot on Monday, they elaborated, "This is not a one-off incident. Unfortunately, it's not the first time an angry customer has taken out their frustration on our staff. Manita is deeply grateful for the majority of our wonderful, friendly, and kind guests... who occasionally provide us with constructive feedback."

The post concluded with a powerful statement on behalf of restaurant workers everywhere: "To all those like Zachary Quinto, remember this - we welcome criticism as it helps us improve, but we will never tolerate being belittled or demeaned."

Representatives for Quinto did not immediately respond to requests for comment, leaving the restaurant's account of the incident as the only version available to the public.
