Travis Kelce, the 36-year-old sports legend, has been advised to "take a step back from the game for a while" before making a decision on his future. Rumors abound that he's contemplating retirement from the NFL, but his brother Jason, a former Philadelphia Eagles star who announced his retirement in 2024, has encouraged Travis to take his time.

During Monday Night Football, Jason shared his thoughts, saying, "I'm curious too." He advised his younger brother, "In my opinion, to make that decision, you need to step away from the game for a bit."
Despite the Kansas City Chiefs' unlikelihood of reaching the Super Bowl this season, Jason has encouraged Travis to savor his final games of the year. "Play these last three games, enjoy them with your teammates and coaches," he said. "Whether you return next year or not, the team will be different. So enjoy these last three games and let it sink in. The answer will come to you with time."
Earlier this year, Travis insisted he still had "a lot more to prove" in the NFL. After losing the 2025 Super Bowl, he still felt motivated and ambitious. He told reporters, "It wasn't a very tough decision for me. I know I'm getting older, but at the same time, I still feel like I have a lot to prove in this league. It really wasn't that hard of a decision for me."
The footballer, engaged to pop star Taylor Swift, added, "I love football. I don't think I really thought about it that much. My friends, family, the team, and everyone here - I love coming into work every single day."
