On Thursday, President-elect Donald Trump proudly unveiled that renowned actors Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone would be appointed as "Special Ambassadors" to the glamorous realm of Hollywood, California. In an exuberant post on Truth Social, Trump declared, "They shall act as my Special Envoys, tasked with the monumental mission of rejuvenating Hollywood—a cinema landscape that has suffered considerable losses to foreign competitors over the past four years. We aim to restore it to its former glory, making it even BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN IT HAS EVER BEEN!"
Voight, a staunch Trump supporter for years, lent his unwavering backing to the president-elect's maiden electoral bid in 2016. His loyalty was further recognized in 2019 when Trump honored him with the prestigious National Medal of Arts.
Gibson, who openly voiced his support for Trump to TMZ in October 2024, found himself entangled in controversy when he disparaged Vice President Kamala Harris' intellect. More recently, amidst the devastation of his own home in the California wildfires, Gibson has been sharing conspiracy theories about the blazes on Fox News.
Stallone, who lent his endorsement to Trump late in the 2024 campaign, had the honor of introducing the president-elect at the America First Policy Institute Gala in November. In his introduction, Stallone hailed Trump as "the second George Washington" and described him as "a truly mythical figure."
In his Thursday post, Trump's enthusiasm was palpable as he penned, "These three exceptionally talented individuals will serve as my vigilant eyes and ears in Hollywood. I am committed to implementing their insightful suggestions. Together, we shall usher in a new era—a Golden Age of Hollywood, mirroring the resplendent splendor of The United States of America itself!"
