SEOUL, August 31  - Amid the mounting tide of sexually exploitative deepfake videos that has cast a dark shadow over the industry, JYP Entertainment has resolutely pledged to unleash a formidable legal blitzkrieg against any such content involving its esteemed artists. "We view the proliferation of deepfake videos featuring our artists with utmost gravity, recognizing the profound impact it can have on their well-being," the company emphasized, revealing its vigorous efforts to gather incriminating evidence against these illicit practices. "We stand firm in our commitment to confront and rectify any infringement upon the rights and dignity of our artists, ensuring that justice is served."

JYP Entertainment's stance mirrors a pervasive challenge confronting the entire entertainment landscape. Recently, Woollim Entertainment lodged a police complaint over deepfake videos featuring its artist Kwon Eun-bee, while ADOR similarly announced stringent legal measures to safeguard its up-and-coming girl group NewJeans. Even Brave Girls' own Yujeong, in a heartfelt revelation on a tvN program, shared her own harrowing experience, stating, "I was horrified to learn that my photos had been weaponized in deepfake videos, a devastating revelation brought to my attention by a concerned acquaintance. This can befall anyone, regardless of gender, a stark reminder of the digital perils we all face."
