In a candid revelation, Uma Thurman has shared the reason behind her decision to forgo a permanent residence in Los Angeles despite her Hollywood success. The "Kill Bill" star admits that she did consider a move to California, but life's circumstances ultimately altered her plans.

"I even signed a lease for an apartment there at one point because I was working there so frequently," she told InStyle. "But as soon as I did, I found myself pregnant with my daughter within just six weeks."
Thurman chose to remain in New York, prioritizing her family over being close to Hollywood. She acknowledges that this choice significantly impacted her career connections. "I never lived in Los Angeles, and because of that, I didn't fully integrate into the community of my own profession," she explained.
Instead, she found a sense of community among local parents. "I had more of a connection with the other mothers at pickup on 16th Street and Rutherford Place, and that's okay," she said. "But I wish I had that chapter. I think I really would have enjoyed it."
However, Thurman insists that she does not regret her decision. "I think the choice to be happy is one that should be made, regardless of any conditions," she noted.
The actress was previously married to Ethan Hawke, with whom she shares two children. She later had a daughter with Arpad Busson.
