However, sources close to the situation revealed to TMZ that the video was, in fact, years old and did not reflect Kilmer's condition in his final days. When the actor first shared the clip, fans flooded the comments with delight at seeing him once again, many reminiscing about his unforgettable portrayal of the Caped Crusader in 'Batman Forever' from 1995.

Now, the comment section has transformed into a tribute wall, where fans have poured out their heartfelt condolences. One user wrote, "Forever my Batman, rest in peace." Another added, "Rest in peace, you will be missed. Thank you for being my childhood hero, Batman. I love you." A third commented, "I am heartbroken that you are no longer with us, Val. I pray you are resting in peace. Thank you so much for your art! You will be deeply missed."

One Instagram user expressed their devastation poignantly, "Val, you will forever be the actor of my teen years! Thank you for all the memorable films from 'Top Gun' to 'Batman' to my absolute favorite movie of all time, 'The Doors'! You will forever be missed! R.I.P. my friend."

Kilmer, who was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014, leaves behind a legacy cherished by his daughter Mercedes and son Jack.
