On Thursday, viewers tuning into Moroccan Cannon's Twitch stream were treated to an unexpected and breathtaking guest star: none other than his mother, Mariah Carey. The legendary singer of "Fantasy" popped into her 13-year-old son's bedroom, interrupting his live gaming session broadcast via webcam. Moroccan, whose father is Nick Cannon, had been streaming for about 11 minutes when a flurry of background chatter intruded upon his broadcast.
The video, still available on his Twitch page under the username curlyhairrocky_, captures the streamer's urgent protests. "I can't mute it! Just text me! I can't mute it!" he insists. Following a brief audio cutoff, he returns to the mic, apologizing, "Sorry chat, my mom is here."
Moroccan then engages in a conversation with someone off-camera for roughly a minute, during which his unseen gaming buddy repeatedly greets, "Hey, Mrs. Carey!" over the voice chat. At this point, Moroccan's twin sister, Monroe, enters the frame, holding a white dog. "You wanna come here, Mom?" Moroccan asks.
Mariah Carey then steps into view, cradling a different white dog and standing behind her son's shoulder. "Okay, y'all need to get out now. Just, everybody get out," Moroccan says, seemingly regretting his earlier invitation. "Mom, they can see you. They're saying, 'Hi Mariah, I love you!' Oh my God."
Carey, addressing her son's audience of just under 40 viewers at the time, waves and beams, "Hi, you guys! I love you, too." The pop icon seems to comply with her son's wishes and steps out of the frame, but continues her conversation with her daughter in Moroccan's room, fully visible to the camera.
"Can y'all please get out, please?" Moroccan pleas. "Love you. Get out of my room! Can we please!" After momentarily switching off his camera, Moroccan returns and apologizes once more for the intrusion. "My bad, chat. I'm bad," he admits. When viewers question his tone while attempting to usher his family out, he clarifies, "I'm not talking to my mom like that, I'm talking to my sister like that." He pauses, his expression turning serious. "I love my mom."
Moroccan's Twitch bio reads, "Hey! Yes, I am Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's son. Please stop asking (￣∇￣*). I'm a 13-year-old streamer just trying to make it big on Twitch and YouTube!"
