Nick Jonas is a man who cherishes every moment with his family, and the reason behind his decision to cast his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and their three-year-old daughter, Malti Marie, alongside him and his brothers Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas in A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, is a testament to that love. "We're playing ourselves," Nick told E! News at the movie's premiere in NYC on November 10. "So, casting other people to be our family wouldn't have been believable or worked. And it was just great to have them there and set the whole tone for the whole project."
A Very Jonas Christmas Movie finds Nick, Joe, and Kevin racing against time as they try to make it back home from their final tour stop in London to be with their families on the East Coast for the holidays—despite a few travel mishaps and brotherly spats along the way. But the journey wasn't just about Nick and his girls; Kevin's wife, Danielle Jonas, and their daughters, Alena, 11, and Valentina, 9, also made their feature film debut in the Christmas movie.
For Kevin, filming with his family was a dream come true. "The first scene that we filmed of the movie was with everyone together as a family," he told E! News. "It really got the film going strong right off the bat."
Nick was determined to ensure that the bond as brothers and fathers translated onscreen, making the film an experience that not only fans of the Jonas Brothers but also anyone could enjoy. "Isaac [Aptaker] and Elizabeth [Berger], who wrote the script and produced the movie alongside us, spent a lot of time trying to understand us better," Nick said. "They put something on the screen that feels universal and that families can connect with without it having to be us for it to make sense and to feel like they can connect. And that's most important to us."
A Very Jonas Christmas Movie premieres on Disney+ and Hulu on November 14, bringing a touch of holiday cheer and family unity to viewers everywhere.
