Why Tom Holland Got Rejected Trying to Buy His Own Non-Alcoholic Beer Brand

It's often said that the third time's a charm, but for Tom Holland, that adage didn't quite hold true. Recently, the actor embarked on a social media quest to track down his very own non-alcoholic beer brand, Bero, at a Target store. However, his attempt to purchase it was thwarted by an unexpected hurdle: his UK ID.

"I haven't been in the States for a spell," Holland remarked in a now-expired Instagram Story video, which was fortunately re-shared by fans on social media. "I'm off to hunt down some Bero on the shelves, out in the great unknown."

After striking out at two separate Target locations, the Spider-Man star eventually struck gold at the third store. "Alright, I found it, but I actually walked right past it by accident," a jubilant Holland exclaimed to the camera.

However, as he revealed in the next clip, actually procuring the non-alcoholic beer would prove to be yet another obstacle. "Success! I found some!" The Crowded Room actor exulted as he strolled through the parking lot. "I tried to buy it, but they wouldn't accept my ID because it's British, and I couldn't prove my age.幸运的是, a really sweet employee, I suppose, scanned their own ID for me."

"It's kind of ironic that I couldn't purchase my own product," he added with a chuckle. "But hey, I'm feeling great! This is exciting."

Holland, who has been open about his sobriety journey, previously shared that the inspiration to create Bero stemmed from his decision to quit drinking. On the On Purpose With Jay Shetty podcast in 2023, he recounted how he initially participated in Dry January in 2022 but found himself constantly craving a drink, leading him to abstain for six months. Upon realizing he could maintain his sobriety, he remembered feeling "the happiest I've ever been in my life."

"I slept better, handled problems more adeptly," Holland recounted at the time. "Issues that would normally upset me on set, I could brush off. I had enhanced mental clarity. I felt healthier, fitter, and I asked myself, 'Why? Why am I chained to this drink? Why am I so obsessed with the idea of having it?'"
