Travis Kelce isn't always in sync with the play. In fact, when Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce announced they were expecting their first baby together with a special gift—the gesture went completely over the Kansas City Chiefs tight end's head.
"I'm over here opening a humidor, there are two boots, and I'm thinking, 'Why the hell are there baby socks in here?'" Travis said on the April 22 episode of their New Heights podcast. "And then I look up at Kylie. I'm thinking, 'Thanks for the humidor, but what the hell are these?'"
It seems that the NFL star's baby radar hasn't gotten any better over the years. After all, when the podcast's social media director Jake Chatzky revealed he was expecting with his wife during the episode, Travis—who is engaged to Taylor Swift—didn't connect the dots at first.
As Travis admitted, "I'm always like three days late on figuring out what the hell just happened." But when it comes to his uncle duties, Travis always scores a touchdown. Indeed, Kylie—who shares kids Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finnley, 12 months with Jason—revealed that the couple's little girls can't get enough of Uncle Trav.
"The enthusiasm he brings when he comes, he just locks in," Kylie said last June on her Not Gonna Lie podcast. "He's gonna give them his undivided attention and they're gonna be like, 'Can you get on the floor?' And he will be already down there."
As for what keeps Jason and Kylie's girls looking forward to hanging out with the three-time Super Bowl champ, Kylie explained their dynamic has a "zest that hasn't been worn down." And Jason, 38, would have to agree with Kylie's assessment.
"Travis is the perfect uncle, he really is," Jason told E! News in September. "I know we give him crap. We won't leave him alone with them. They're too young. But Travis just has such a zest and vitality for life."
The former Philadelphia Eagles center added, "My daughters are so drawn to him immediately—partly because he's gorgeous, but then also he's just a fun human being."
