William Shatner's well-known aspiration is, without a doubt, to "live long and prosper." However, on Wednesday, a bombshell report from TMZ sent waves of concern rippling through the fanbase of the iconic "Star Trek" actor. The news outlet claimed that the 94-year-old had been swiftly transported to the hospital following a "medical emergency." According to the website, Shatner's agent, Harry Gold, revealed that the star had "encountered a blood sugar issue at his Los Angeles residence late Wednesday afternoon and subsequently underwent a medical check-up."

On Thursday, Shatner himself took to his verified Instagram account to set the record straight. "I overindulged," he candidly admitted in a post. "I'm deeply grateful for all your concern, but rest assured, I'm perfectly fine. I keep telling you all: don't put your faith in tabloids or AI (winking eye emoji)." Echoing the wit of the legendary humorist and writer Mark Twain, Shatner quipped over a photo that seemed to portray him in Twain's guise, "Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated," a playful nod to Twain's famous retort to an erroneous 1897 newspaper report of his own death.
