The arrest came on the heels of a grand jury's decision to charge Beezy with felony murder in the death of MO3, who was fatally shot on a Dallas highway during broad daylight. On Tuesday, the jury indicted Beezy on a charge of "capital murder while remuneration," accusing the Texas-born rapper of intentionally and knowingly participating in the demise of MO3 (real name: Melvin Noble) by hiring Kewon White to eliminate him for payment and the "promise of compensation," as stated in the indictment.

"As per the agreement, Kewon White intentionally and knowingly caused the death of (Noble) by shooting (him) with a firearm," reads the indictment. White was reportedly apprehended a month after MO3's untimely death and is currently serving a nine-year prison sentence for firearm charges linked to the shooting, as per Dallas outlets KDFW and WFAA.

Recalling the tragic incident on Nov. 11, 2020, police informed USA TODAY that the suspect, described as an adult Black male, exited his parked dark sedan armed with a gun and approached MO3, who had stepped out of his stationary vehicle and started running southbound on the highway. The suspect, now identified as White, chased MO3, firing numerous shots and hitting him. The rapper was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries. MO3 was 28 years old at the time.

White also shot an innocent bystander, an adult male sitting in a different car. The second victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Beezy embarked on his musical journey as a teenager, releasing his own mixtapes and achieving breakthrough success with the 2017 mixtape "Lite Work, Vol. 2," which featured the hit song "That's On Me." The trap track reportedly soared to No. 25 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and cracked the Hot 100 chart at No. 56. A star-studded 2018 remix boasted appearances from 2 Chainz, T.I., Rich the Kid, Jeezy, Boosie Badazz, and Trapboy Freddie.

In recent years, Beezy has collaborated with top hip-hop artists such as Chris Brown, Ty Dolla Sign, Young Thug, and Gunna. His latest album, "Bad Azz Yella Boy," was released in August 2022.
