The internet is currently reveling in the joy surrounding one of its most beloved power couples. YouTuber Markiplier—renowned for his captivating "Let's Play" videos of indie horror games—officially confirmed that he and his longtime girlfriend, Amy Nelson, tied the knot on September 20. The couple chose to keep the news under wraps for a few weeks before finally sharing it with the world.

"10 years and counting," Markiplier (whose real name is Mark Fischbach) posted on Instagram on October 7. "Gonna go for the world record or die trying." Amy also penned a heartfelt tribute to her new husband in her Instagram post on the same day, writing, "The whole point is never clearer than when I'm with you."

The couple also offered their fans a glimpse into their special day, with Amy sharing several snapshots that showcased her in a stunning bell-sleeved wedding gown adorned with intricate lace detailing and a charming bow at the back. Markiplier—ranked as the 16th highest-paid content creator by Forbes—looked equally dashing for the occasion, donning a crisp white tuxedo jacket over a white shirt and black pants. The 36-year-old completed his ensemble with a vibrant red bowtie and a boutonnière.

Fans were ecstatic for Amy and Markiplier, who has been creating YouTube content since 2012 and boasts nearly 38 million subscribers on the platform. "Markiplier getting married... oh, the world is healing," one fan wrote in the comments. Another excitedly added, "BEEN HERE SINCE 2014 AND NOW I'M SEEING YOU GET MARRIED?? HOLY HELL, CONGRATS!!"

One person even shared that the news brought her to tears, writing, "Didn't think 20-year-old me would be openly weeping about Markiplier just like 12-year-old me used to, but here we are. I'm so happy for such a power couple." And as one fan succinctly put it, "MOM AND DAD GOT MARRIED!?!?!?!"

Markiplier and Amy first connected on Tinder when he returned to his hometown of Cincinnati—where Amy also hails from. "We met, but we didn't start dating there," he explained on a 2022 episode of the Impaulsive Podcast, noting that the two reconnected later when she was in Los Angeles. "She was out here during a time when I was having a rough year, and that's how we met."

The internet personality has been immensely grateful for Amy's presence in his life, especially because she's always there to support him in any way she can, like she did with his 2019 interactive movie, A Heist with Markiplier. "The secret ingredient was actually my girlfriend, Amy," he gushed on Late Night With Seth Meyers at the time. "She was behind the camera, watching every single shot, making sure it was good. I trusted her."

He added, "I'm very lucky to have her."
