Amidst a fiery backlash sparked by a provocative tweet comparing Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Taylor Swift, Zach Bryan has abruptly deactivated his Twitter account. On Wednesday, September 18th, the country music sensation ventured into a social media minefield with a controversial opinion that seemed to ignite a digital inferno. "Eagles > Chiefs," his message began, swiftly followed by "Kanye > Taylor," and concluded with a rallying cry: "Who's with me?" The response to this query, however, appears to have prompted a hasty retreat from the platform.

Swifties, the fiercely loyal fanbase of Taylor Swift, swiftly rallied to her defense, as Bryan's tweet struck a double blow, not only against Swift but also her beau, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. One commentator on a Pop Crave post about the tweet quipped, "He knew not to mess with the Swifties," while another scorned, "Got all brave just to wimp out and deactivate."

Bryan's recent fascination with Ye's music is evident on his still-active Instagram account, where the first four Instagram Stories showcase four vintage tracks from the rapper. From the 2007 classic "Good Life," featuring T-Pain, off Graduation, to the 2018 cuts "I Thought About Killing You," "All Mine," and "Ghost Town," featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR from Ye's eponymous album, Bryan's feed paints a vivid picture of his current musical obsession.

While the Eagles and Chiefs football rivalry has intensified in recent years, culminating in Travis Kelce's triumphant face-off against his retired brother Jason Kelce and the Philadelphia squad in the 2023 Super Bowl, the far more combustible feud has been between Swift and Ye. Their saga began when West controversially interrupted Swift's 2009 VMAs acceptance speech, proclaiming Beyoncé should have won. After a brief reconciliation and an unlikely friendship, Ye's questionable lyrics about Swift in "Famous" and the subsequent leak of a private phone call between them by his then-wife Kim Kardashian reignited their tumultuous relationship.

The pair's infamous rivalry continues to simmer, with Ye recently rapping about Swift's relationship with Kelce on his Vultures 2 album, while Swift subtly shaded Ye by retitling a Tortured Poets Department song to "thank You aimEe," cleverly capitalizing on the rapper's initials.
