Zach Bryan Vows to ‘Never Play in Kansas City’ Again amid Online Beef with Chiefs Fans

Published: Aug 11 2025

Zach Bryan enthusiasts residing in Kansas City might find themselves on a journey the next time they crave experiencing the star's live performance. The country music troubadour, who is also a vocal admirer of the Philadelphia Eagles, chose Friday, August 8th, to take a swipe at the Kansas City Chiefs' colossal fanbase. Specifically, the 29-year-old Bryan resurrected the Chiefs faithful's previous aspiration for their Missouri-based team to become the first in NFL annals to claim three consecutive Super Bowl victories—an aspiration that was cruelly extinguished with their February defeat at the hands of the Eagles.

"Where are all the three-peat believers from last year?," mocked the singer in an X post that went viral on August 8th.

The response was, to put it mildly, a mixed bag.

Shortly thereafter, an X user found themselves entangled in a fiery debate about Bryan's remarks, accusing the singer of "singling out" the very "fanbase that sells out his concerts." Bryan's counter? A revelation that he had no intentions of setting foot in Chiefs territory anytime soon—or ever.

"Please understand I will never perform in Kansas City," the musician declared alongside a repost of the user's comment. (It's worth noting that he had previously graced the Missouri city's stages in 2021, 2023, and was scheduled to do so again in 2024.)

In a subsequent post, Bryan dealt another blow to the Chiefs, quipping, "I'll be about to wrap up my show and then receive a taunting call if I play at that stadium."

The same user then requested that the singer "take us off your live album too," seemingly referring to the track "Fifth of May - Live from Kansas City" from his album '24 (Live).' Bryan obliged with a concise reply.

"Done brother," the country crooner responded to the user's plea. (As of Sunday, August 10th, the track remained available for streaming on Spotify.)

The "Something in the Orange" vocalist continued to share several more posts on the subject, seemingly reveling in the fervent reaction to his earlier statements. "I missed the drama guys, let's rile some people up," he exclaimed in an X post, followed swiftly by another: "Bro, all you have to do to rile up a Chiefs fan is play a fair game of football."

"Guys, it's okay to trash-talk each other about football; y'all are weird as hell," he later added in another post.

Bryan previously made headlines with his X posts—and subsequent account deactivation—last year after taking a dig at one of the most renowned Chiefs fans in the world: Taylor Swift.

In September 2024, the "Pink Skies" singer apologized after making a controversial comparison between Swift and Kanye West in an X post. "Eagles > Chiefs," he wrote. "Kanye > Taylor." He concluded by asking his fans, "Who's with me?" but later deleted the post, claiming he was intoxicated when he shared it. He issued an apology in a series of Instagram Stories posts.

"For the record guys, I wasn't coming for Taylor the other night," Bryan penned at the time. "I was drunkenly comparing two albums, and it came out wrong. I know there's a lot of controversy surrounding Ye, and I was speaking purely musically. I love Taylor's music and hope you guys know I'm human and tweet stupid things often. Hope one day I can explain this to her. Twitter gets me in trouble too much, and I'd say it's best I stay off it. I'm sorry to any Taylor fans I offended or disappointed. Love you guys, and I'm trying my best!"

In another Instagram Stories post, the "I Remember Everything" musician elaborated further, stating that he was "going through a tough time" in his personal life.

"I think I was projecting a bit," he confessed. "To be honest, it just came across as rude and insensitive towards Taylor. I respect her immensely as a musician, and the last thing I want is for people to think I don't appreciate and love her contributions to music. Okay, that's the last of it! Love you guys and hope you understand."

Bryan added, "Don't drink and tweet!!"
