Zoë Kravitz harbors deep gratitude for the personal and professional odyssey she shared with her ex-fiancé, Channing Tatum, throughout their relationship. In a recently unveiled cover story for ELLE's March edition, the 36-year-old actress and filmmaker, addressing their breakup for the very first time, was inquired about how their separation impacted her perception of their film, Blink Twice.

"Absolutely not," Kravitz responded, referencing Tatum, 44. "I adore the project we created together, and I hold him in the highest regard. Even when discussing the brilliance of his performance, it fills my heart with warmth, and I am overjoyed that the entire experience unfolded as it did."

"I am immensely thankful that we embarked on that journey together," she added, her gratitude shining through.

Romance rumors surrounding Kravitz and Tatum first ignited in August 2021, when the pair were spotted strolling through New York City. Subsequently, in interviews starting February of the following year, they began publicly acknowledging their bond.

Their engagement came in October 2023, yet a year later, they decided to part ways, with a source revealing to PEOPLE in November 2024 that "they realized they were at disparate life stages."

During her ELLE interview, Kravitz extolled Tatum's boundless talent, expressing excitement for audiences to continue witnessing his giftedness.

"He has so much more to offer, and I believe he's in a phase as an actor where he feels truly confident, with people discovering diverse facets of his abilities," shared the Big Little Lies star.

Kravitz's praise for Tatum isn't a recent occurrence. In December 2024, while conversing with The Batman director Matt Reeves for Variety's Directors on Directors, she revealed that when casting Tatum in Blink Twice, she aimed to "capitalize on his mesmerizing charisma."

"Channing was the first person who came to mind for Slater King, though I'm unsure why," Kravitz said of Tatum's role as the tech billionaire in the psychological thriller. Despite calling off their engagement that October, Kravitz, who had met Tatum prior to casting him as the antagonist Slater, stands firm in her casting decision.

As she confided to ELLE, "For Channing specifically, it was about the exhilaration of witnessing him undertake something so unlike him, so surprising, and something I knew he was more than capable of delivering."
