The young sons of Zoe Saldaña, the star of Avatar, will not be embarking on a journey to Pandora anytime soon. The 47-year-old actress, who shares her husband Marco Perego-Saldaña's 11-year-old twins Cy and Bowie, as well as their 8-year-old brother Zen, has a good reason for her decision. "I want them to experience Avatar when they are absolutely ready," she exclusively shared with Will Marfuggi at the Avatar: Fire and Ash premiere in Los Angeles on December 1. "You know, my boys are gentle. They're beautiful flowers. They're resilient beyond your imagination, but they pace themselves, and I respect them for that."

Although her sons aren't old enough to embark on a journey with the Na'vi yet, they do have a guilty pleasure when it comes to movies. As she admitted, "They're into Adam Sandler movies, which are sometimes not that appropriate for 11-year-olds." However, they have dabbled in some of her other work. "One of them has seen one of the Guardians movies," Zoe explained. "And they just started seeing the Transformers movies because they're so into Transformers." But her little ones made it clear that they'll let her know when they're ready for an Avatar movie marathon. As she added, "My older ones told me 'Like, in a year, mama, we're going to be ready for Avatar, we promise.' I'm like, okay."
However, one piece of art that is off limits for her sons is her Oscar, which she won for her role in Emilia Pérez. When asked if her sons have had their hands on her award, she responded, "Not yet. It's very new. I'm not letting anybody touch it yet. I'm being very precious with it."
But even though her kids aren't allowed to watch most of Zoe's work just yet, that hasn't stopped them from praising their mom's work. "We just want to say we're really proud of our mom," Cy and Bowie gushed in a joint interview alongside their mom at the Elio premiere in June. "For everything she's done."
