9-1-1: Nashville – Season 1 Episode 3

Published: Nov 04 2025

The poignant moment unfolded as Blythe knelt in prayer within Don's hospital room, bravely bracing for the worst while silently pleading for a miraculous turn of events. "You're not getting rid of me that easily," Don murmured, wrapping his arm around her in a tender embrace. It was a heartwarming scene... until Dixie's unwelcome intrusion chilled the air. Blythe was resilient in the face of much folly, but once she caught sight of Dixie's hand on Don's, the gloves were off. Their catty exchange concluded with Blythe reminding Dixie that only true family members were permitted to visit Don—and she'd be loath to have security escort her out.

The claws emerged once more when Blythe paid Dixie a surprise house call, swiftly accusing her of coaxing Blue towards Don once their child support checks ceased. Dixie denied any ulterior motives (all lies!) or desire for revenge (all lies!), but acknowledged the existence of a "special connection" with Don. With that, Blythe officially declared war, to which Dixie literally raised a glass in full support. Oh, the tension was palpable.

In happier news, Don's brush with death had a positive ripple effect on his inner circle, most notably on Ryan and Blue, who now displayed an unexpected brotherly bond after the events of this week's episode. Blue had gone from apologizing for being born to receiving praise from Ryan, who credited Blue with saving his life during one of their more intense calls. "At the end of the day, you are your father's son," Ryan told him. (Perhaps that was what brought Don back from the brink. No disrespect to Blythe, who also contributed.)

Ryan even managed to mend fences with Sam after realizing that "life is short." While not the most original lesson in the grand scheme of things, it allowed Ryan to confront his mistakes head-on. Ignoring their problems had only made things worse, and he was willing to face them squarely. This was exactly what Sam needed to hear, urging Ryan to hold off on returning those divorce papers. (Do you see them making it? We have a sinking feeling that Blue may end up being the catalyst for their reunion.)

The mood then took a somber turn as Cammie returned home after what felt like the longest day of her life. She shared the stress of her day on a voicemail to Blythe's brother Michael, but by the end of her call, it was clear that Michael was no longer with us.
