A Hundred Memories – K-drama Episode 6 1

Back at the bustling terminal, news of the accident sparks a frenzy among the girls. Yeong-rye, heart heavy with concern, rushes to the hospital where Hae-ja has just emerged from surgery, only to learn that her leg has been tragically amputated.

Determined to help her friend, Yeong-rye resolves to investigate the ramifications of the company footing the bill for Hae-ja's surgery. However, Mr. No and Cheong A, the company's callous representatives, are quick to absolve themselves of any responsibility. They blatantly accuse Hae-ja of recklessness, attributing her tragic loss to her own "misjudgement."

Frustrated by the company's indifference, Yeong-rye takes matters into her own hands. She rallies all the girls, urging them to unite in a collective strike against Cheong A. With resolve etched on their faces, they station themselves outside the company premises, brandishing signs that denounce Cheong A's refusal to accept culpability.

The strike throws the head office into disarray. Services are disrupted, and Mr. No finds himself under intense scrutiny. Amidst the chaos, the girls remain steadfast, their defiance unyielding.

Meanwhile, Jong-hui reaches out to Jae-pil, arranging a weekend rendezvous and playfully advising him to dress to impress. In her absence, Mr. No ventures outside to confront the striking girls. He issues an ultimatum, granting them a single day to return to work or face termination.

The threat looms large, as none of the girls can afford to lose their jobs. The prospect sends shivers down their spines, leaving some on the verge of capitulation. Alarmed by the escalating situation, Yeong-rye seeks legal counsel from her brother and Jung-hyun. Together, they delve into the fundamental labour rights of the workers, convinced that a solution lies within their grasp.

The duo shares an incredibly sweet bond. Despite Jung-hyun's playful habit of calling her "ugly" as a term of endearment, they deeply care for each other. She affectionately refers to him as her Daddy-Long-Legs—a figure who lends her unwavering support whenever she needs it. After seeing her off at the terminal, the guys inadvertently draw the media's attention. Mr. No isn't thrilled about the spotlight, but he's left with little choice... unless they can sway the situation. Eventually, HQ relents and agrees to foot Hae-ja’s hospital bills and severance pay.

When the girls arrive at the hospital to share the good news with Hae-ja, they also learn that Mr. Kim is transferring to Dongjin Transportation. It seems he's been planning this move for quite some time, much to Jeong-bun's dismay. She confronts Mr. Kim, only to have him bluntly clarify that she was merely a fleeting romance, leaving her heartbroken.

Jong-hui meets up with Jae-pil over the weekend. They spend time together, visiting a theme park and enjoying coffee at the Vivaldi cafe. He even gifts her a new pair of shoes, which, predictably, end up giving her blisters. After tending to her wounds, Jong-hui confesses that there won't be a next time for them. She wants to end their relationship, feeling they're too different and incompatible. She mentions the "too many obstacles" standing in their way and then departs, subtly hinting that Yeong-rye is one such obstacle.

Jae-pil is stunned and insists they're perfect for each other, but Jong-hui remains firm, deciding her feelings will end here. However, as she walks away, Jong-hui struggles to hold back her tears and eventually breaks down in Yeong-rye’s arms, confessing she felt she had no other choice.

As weeks pass, Mr. No grows increasingly irritable with Yeong-rye and starts picking on her. But he's not the only one seething with anger. On the street, Jae-pil’s mother and Se-ri continue to spend time together by the horses. Gi-bok spots them and is shocked to see his wife out with Yeong-rye’s mother. He tries to drag her back home, but Yeong-rye’s mother stands her ground, demanding that Gi-bok treat his wife better. The children watch as he reluctantly concedes, and she becomes even more enamored with her new companion.

Back at the terminal, the girls question Jong-hui about why things didn't work out with her boyfriend. Yeong-rye attempts to interject, knowing it's about Jae-pil, but Jong-hui cuts her off. However, they soon have more pressing matters to discuss. Jeong-bun reveals she's pregnant with Mr. Kim's child, explaining her earlier fury over his impending move. The girls confront her on the rooftop, but she's disheartened and believes she has no other option but to terminate her pregnancy.

As Mr. No pored over the financial records, meticulously crunching numbers, he suddenly noticed a glaring discrepancy—the deposit amount simply didn't align with the final tally. Naturally, his suspicion fell upon Yeong-rye, and without hesitation, he confronted her directly. Convinced that she was the one siphoning off cash under the table, he pressed his accusation relentlessly. It was painfully obvious that the boss was imposing this narrative upon her with unyielding force, and the situation quickly escalated to physical aggression.

Just as things took a violent turn, Jong-hui burst onto the scene and, in a dramatic act of defiance, plunged a pen into Mr. No's back. Seizing the moment, Yeong-rye urged Jong-hui to flee, deciding then and there that she would shoulder the blame for the incident. With Jong-hui safely out of sight, Yeong-rye sank to her knees in despair, right as Jae-pil arrived on the scene.

Fast forward seven years, and Yeong-rye has reinvented herself. No longer a bus attendant, she now thrives as a talented staff designer at a chic Beauty Salon. And in a surprising twist of fate, Jae-pil has become her devoted boyfriend!
