Alien: Earth – Season 1 Episode 6

Episode 6 of *Alien: Earth* kicks off with us transported back to the present on Prodigy Island, where Wendy stands in awe, fixated on the rapidly maturing xenomorph. Kirsh is quick to offer Joe some reassurance, noting that Wendy had single-handedly taken down an adult xenomorph with nothing more than a small knife, implying she's more than capable of handling herself in this situation.

Kirsh doesn't seem overly perturbed by the unfolding events, reminding Joe that Wendy represents the future—a future brimming with promise and potential. He also brushes off Joe's suggestion of taking Wendy home to live as a family, implying it's a naive and unrealistic notion.

Meanwhile, Dame Sylvia, Arthur, and Atom Eins gather around Nibs, who is visibly upset about her sudden realization—and subsequent outburst—that she's pregnant. She insists on having it "fixed," whatever that may entail. Dame Sylvia quickly steps in, attributing Nibs' erratic behavior and outbursts to the trauma she endured at the crash site.

Instead of suggesting therapy or counseling, Atom Eins proposes a drastic solution: a full memory wipe. Arthur and Dame Sylvia voice their disagreement, but Atom Eins stands firm, leading to Arthur's dismissal for insubordination. As for Nibs, the memory wipe procedure is carried out successfully, leaving her with no recollection of the recent events.

Joe takes the opportunity to speak with Wendy in the hallway, expressing his concerns about the xenomorph's presence. Wendy, however, remains unfazed and even nonchalant about the whole ordeal. She's convinced that this particular xenomorph is one of the "good ones" and wants to continue her experiments with it. Wendy makes it clear to Joe that she has no intention of leaving with him.

Enter Boy Kavalier, who now arrives to meet with the CEO of Yutani, with Barrister McAfee acting as the moderator overseeing the proceedings. He's been hired by The Five to facilitate this crucial meeting and reach an agreement on what to do with the crashed ship—and, of course, the specimens onboard.

Kavalier spins a tale of a cover-up before bringing up the specimens themselves, putting pressure on the CEO of Yutani. Eventually, she caves, admitting that the species onboard were indeed meant to be studied at an off-planet research facility, which is where they'll be transferred once she can retrieve them.

They eventually hammer out a 20 billion settlement, but Boy Kavalier isn't done yet. He drops a bombshell, mentioning the ongoing quarantine procedure that will remain in place for another six weeks, throwing a wrench into the CEO's plans.

Ms. Yutani is practically fuming with rage, and once the meeting concludes, she decides that Morrow should proceed full throttle with his scheme. Morrow harbors intentions to destabilize the entire facility, plunging it into chaos. His grand plan? To swoop in amidst the turmoil and exfiltrate both the xeno and the precious specimens. Curiously, a verbal skirmish erupts between Kirsh and Morrow in the elevator afterward, with Morrow tauntingly promising to see the “old toy” in the near future.

Meanwhile, Slightly is a bundle of nerves, riddled with anxiety over his clandestine saboteur plans. He shows up to confer with Joe, interestingly enough, while sketching out a potential escape route. However, escaping is easier imagined than executed, especially on an island encircled by a vast expanse of water. Slightly attempts to coax Joe into joining him in the lab, but his desperation comes across as unsettlingly awkward, prompting Joe to opt for a patrol stint with his comrades instead. Wandering through the dense foliage, Joe keeps a vigilant eye out, all the while chatting about the prospect of leaving once more.

Back in the lab, Wendy appears to be making significant strides in deciphering the alien language. She begins to communicate, or at least mimic, the sounds, while the rapidly evolving xenomorph observes her with keen interest. Ocellus, too, watches the unfolding drama from its cage, paying particular heed when Tootles enters the lab alone to tend to their needs.

Predictably, Tootles proves to be an absolute klutz. Along with accidentally breaking the feeding compartment door, he becomes excessively jumpy when Ocellus bangs on the glass, inadvertently locking himself in with one of the specimens. These happen to be colossal creatures capable of spraying corrosive acid and devouring metal. The acid burns through the synth, eventually proving fatal as it feeds on the robotic components.

Realizing that Nibs has had her memory wiped, Wendy confronts Dame Sylvia seeking answers. Dame Sylvia stands firm by her decision, pointing out that Nibs possessed corrupted data. Wendy, however, remains skeptical, questioning the very foundations of the lab and facility. She believes that humanity, rather than the aliens, is the true source of wrongdoing in this scenario.

As Joe busily packed away his gear, he unexpectedly showed up at the lab to find Arthur. His surprise was palpable upon learning that Arthur had been fired, especially considering how deeply Arthur seemed to care about his work. Joe didn't mince words, bluntly questioning whether Arthur was truly safe amidst a horde of murderous specimens that seemed intent on killing, reproducing, and laying waste to everything in their path.

Playing his part to perfection, Arthur offered reassuring words to Joe, all the while secretly typing away on his computer. His true message was urgent and clear: he needed to grab Wendy and get the hell out of there. As an added precaution, he even jotted down a boat code and took the liberty of removing the trackers from the synths. Just as Joe was about to leave, an error message flashed on Arthur's screen, confirming that Tootles' signal had been lost.

Meanwhile, Kirsh kept a watchful eye on Slightly as he made his way into the lab alongside Arthur. What they found inside was a gruesome sight: Arthur lay destroyed, his body a testament to the carnage that had unfolded. In a bizarre twist, Slightly noted that Arthur hadn't even bothered to put on any protective gear or call for help. Instead, he had unlocked the door himself, ushering the synth out and leaving it wide open in the process.

This lapse in judgment proved fatal, as it gave Slightly just enough time to open the other lab doors and lock Arthur inside, trapping him alone with the ravenous creatures. The Facehugger wasted no time in doing its gruesome work, while Kirsh watched the entire scene unfold from his tablet aboard the plane. However, he chose to keep his silence, not bothering to inform Boy Kavalier of the unfolding disaster.

In a desperate attempt to escape, Slightly tried to hide alongside Arthur in a human-sized vent. But it was a futile effort, as the relentless bugs soon found him too, ending his life off-screen in a gruesome manner.
