Bitch X Rich – K-drama Episode 7 1

The following morning, Hye-in approaches her father with a bold request: she needs to borrow 80,000 won. Her family's astonishment is palpable as they grapple with the magnitude of her demand, given their strained financial situation. Her brother lambasts her for her insensitivity, yet Hye-in retreats to her room, where she receives a text from Na-yeon, demanding repayment for the dress Hye-in had borrowed.

Trouble looms as the dress, now marred by a crimson wine stain, stands as evidence of impending doom should Na-yeon's mother discover its fate. A flashback transports us to the glitzy sorority party where Hye-in, an invitee among the elite, realizes she is an outsider despite donning Na-yeon's luxurious gown.

The sorority sisters, spoiled heiresses one and all, make Hye-in feel like an interloper. Je-na's entrance escalates the tension; she and her entourage target Hye-in, with Je-na deliberately spilling red wine directly from the bottle onto Hye-in's dress. The girls taunt Hye-in as 'Do-eon's Girl,' while Je-na insists that Hye-in knows her place and refrains from mistaking herself for one of them. Hye-in retaliates, aiming to teach Je-na a lesson, but hotel staff swiftly intervene, escorting her out.

Later that night, Je-na callously orders her chauffeur and personal assistant to terminate the housemaid's employment, accusing her of disrupting her room. Je-na emphasizes the importance of maintaining order, asserting her distaste for disruptions in their rightful places.

The next morning, Do-eon confronts Je-na, reprimanding her for bullying Hye-in. Je-na retaliates by suggesting that Do-eon is entangled with Kim Hae-in and urges him to abandon his fascination with 'penniless people.' She cynically posits that the poor often exploit individuals like them as pawns to ascend social ladders, ultimately discarding them for better prospects—a narrative eerily reminiscent of Je-na's father's betrayal of her mother.

Later that evening, So-mang is left astounded upon witnessing a video depicting Hye-in enduring bullying at the party. Simultaneously, his eyes catch Hye-in in conversation with an elderly gentleman, instantly sparking his suspicion that the man is a predator, exploiting Hye-in's innocence and entangling her in an unethical relationship. Hye-in, sensing his misconception, clarifies that she was merely thrifting one of her dresses to the gentleman, putting So-mang's worries to rest.

Their subsequent chat delves into the obliviousness of the affluent towards their privileges and So-mang's erroneous assumption that Hye-in's alleged relationship with the middle-aged man stemmed from financial desperation. Overcome with guilt, So-mang offers Hye-in a lift back home. Curiosity piqued, Hye-in wonders if So-mang, who seems to empathize with her plight, shares a similar background of poverty, considering his frequent presence in her circle.

That very night, Hye-in conceives an ambitious plan to juggle as many part-time jobs as humanly possible, aiming to amass enough funds to purchase an 80,000 won dress. The following day, her teacher reveals an alternate path to securing a scholarship, one that also promises temporary housing and additional perks. While pondering this opportunity, Hye-in bumps into Je-na outside the school gates. She pleads with Je-na to ignore her presence and allow her to continue her education undisturbed. Je-na, however, mocks Hye-in's plight, taunting her about the wine-stained dress she believes Hye-in rented.

Je-na proposes a deal: Hye-in must vacate the school within a week, in exchange for payment to replace the dress ruined by wine. Over the ensuing days, Je-na relentlessly reminds Hye-in of her offer, making it clear that her continued presence in the school hinges on her voluntary departure. A couple of days after Je-na's confrontation with Do-eon, he offers Hye-in a ride home, inquiring about her recent turmoil.

Hye-in, seeking financial assistance, hesitantly asks Do-eon if he would lend her some money. Do-eon, misunderstanding her predicament, scorns her for prioritizing money amidst what he sees as a matter of life and death for Hae-in. Offended by his perception, Hye-in requests to disembark from his car, revealing that she has yet to lay eyes on the person who pushed Hae-in off the roof, her voice tinged with unresolved trauma.
