In the fifth episode of "Can This Love Be Translated," Hiro and Mu-hee embark on a journey through Canada, engaging in various activities. Mu-hee's constant smile and cheerfulness, however, perplex Hiro, who overhears Nanami speculate that Mu-hee genuinely appears to be on a date with a guy she likes. As they admire a four-leaf clover together, both Hiro and Ho-jin watch Mu-hee's joy with admiration.

As they watch the sunset together, Mu-hee declares it the most beautiful one she's ever seen since she's not doing it alone. Unfortunately, their plans are disrupted when Producer Kim has to return home for an emergency, and a new producer, Ji-seon, takes his place. The chances of witnessing the aurora borealis have also decreased, further complicating their situation.
The next day's shoot is canceled, so Mu-hee and Yong-u decide to have dinner and a drink. Mu-hee is disappointed to learn that Ho-jin has gone out to a bookstore. When Ho-jin returns to his room to find Yong-u passed out and Mu-hee wearing his glasses, he follows her to retrieve them. However, he locks himself out of his room because he left the key inside. That's when Mu-hee realizes she's also forgotten the key to her own room. They end up chatting through the night until Mu-hee falls asleep.
In the morning, they head to a nearby farmer's market. While eating at a diner, Mu-hee reveals that she's trying to collect seven four-leaf clovers for good luck and hopes it will increase their chances of seeing the northern lights. Ho-jin is skeptical but agrees to have faith. While waiting for him, Mu-hee gets lost but finds a four-leaf clover and runs to find him. However, Ho-jin meets Ji-seon at the same time, who has just arrived from the airport to replace Producer Kim. Mu-hee arrives and is disheartened to see Ji-seon there.
Meanwhile, Hiro asks Nanami if she really thinks Mu-hee likes him. He decides to act more coldly towards her to avoid leading her on.
In the car, Do Ra-mi appears and taunts Mu-hee about secretly possessing her room's key card all this time. She then forces Mu-hee to inquire about Ji-seon's upcoming wedding from next week. Ji-seon is evasive and says she was the only producer available. As Ji-seon and Ho-jin head to Hiro's hotel, Mu-hee waits for her manager to pick her up. Inside the hotel, Ho-jin again presses Ji-seon about the wedding. She brushes it off, but a flashback reveals Jin-suk saying he wants to get the wedding "over with," disappointing Ji-seon.
While out on a jog, Hiro encounters Mu-hee sitting on a bench. Mu-hee vents her feelings to him, even though he doesn't fully grasp what she's saying. She expresses her wish that the aurora borealis wouldn't appear now that Ji-seon is here.
The entire crew gathers for dinner, during which Ji-seon reveals that she's pushing her wedding forward by a week for the show. A flashback shows Mu-hee asking Ho-jin how he can like one person for so long. Ho-jin compares the experience to a horror movie that he wants to end but can't.
Later, Mu-hee tries to console Ho-jin, telling him to run away with someone this time so that someone can protect him. He says he's tried becoming close to another person and it hasn't worked. He suggests she should only stay if she wants to be a rebound. Mu-hee calls him out for being mean and walks away, upset.
The next day, the team heads out of town for the shoot under the northern lights. As they set up camp, Ji-seon informs Mu-hee that Ho-jin got into a minor car accident. While he deals with the issue, Nanami will translate for the actors. The shoot concludes without any sign of the aurora borealis. Hiro notices a change in Mu-hee's behavior and mentions it to Nanami. Nanami, who has figured out that Mu-hee likes Ho-jin, blames it on her interpretation.
Yong-u goes into Ji-seon's tent to give her some food and accidentally picks up a call from Jin-suk. As Jin-suk starts talking, it's revealed that the marriage has been called off and Jin-suk wants to get it back on. Ji-seon threatens Yong-u and warns him not to say anything to anyone else.
When Ho-jin finally returns, he calls Mu-hee out to meet him. She apologizes because she believes she cursed him and it came true. He assures her that it wasn't the curse and then points to the sky, which is filled with aurora borealis. He also reveals that he found a seventh clover while sorting out the accident. Mu-hee asks Ho-jin to stay and watch the light for a little longer. A flashback shows that he found her room key card when she was sleeping and realized she lied.
The final scene shows Ho-jin using his phone torch to look for a four-leaf clover while his driver talks to the driver of the other car.
