Cashero – K-drama Episode 5 1

A flashback reveals the trio's meticulous plan to deceive the Vanguard during the "truce," feigning discord among themselves to throw off their pursuers' focus. Their true objective was to access the core room and gather evidence.

As the present unfolds, Ho-in and Sang-ung break into a secure room, seizing files that reveal the Vanguard's sinister endeavors—creating superpowers through illegal clinical trials that induce dependency and hallucinations. The files also contain a letter from Nathan to Sang-ung, expressing admiration for his selfless efforts to help others.

The scene shifts to Nathan, chuckling at the chaos Anna has wreaked. Su-yeon, his subordinate, informs him that the superpower extracts have been relocated to Gimhae Bank. The trio infiltrates Nathan's apartment, only to find a telescope pointing towards a building where disoriented individuals are attempting suicide by jumping from its rooftop. Nathan's sinister grin is a stark contrast to Sang-ung's horrified expression.

At home, Sang-uk finds Min-suk asleep, awaiting his return. She had prepared dinner and left a note urging him not to overexert himself. He also discovers that she has been working tirelessly to purchase an apartment, which saddens him further. Additionally, his boss announces a three-month pay cut for his previous escapade.

The scene doesn't get any less intense as Sang-ung is officially summoned to the precinct. Ho-in, the typical overbearing lawyer, tries to press the matter, but Detective Hwang simply tells them to call it quits while they're ahead. Sang-ung is confused, and Ho-in reveals that Hwang was once one of them but left due to differing opinions.

At the Jos', Nathan and Anna engage in a heated exchange, with Anna mocking Nathan's habit of drinking smoothies. As kids, she even tried to kill him by shooting his ear. When Won-do arrives, Anna complains that Nathan is drawing attention to their project. Nathan explains that heroes love meddling, and he's doing it to lure Sang-ung. Won-do likes this strategy and puts Nathan in charge of the project.

A new mission awaits the trio: Hermes, a new drug dealer in town, is selling Mundane Vanguard's drugs. They have to catch her on the same day as Sang-ung's family dinner. He's confident he can balance both, especially when he sees Min-suk splurging on the best suit for dinner.

It's D-Day. Ho-in is the getaway driver waiting outside while Eun-mi and Sang-ung enter the club. The only identity marker is Hermes' red bag. Of course, Sang-ung spots her – Hermes is Su-yeon. She has superspeed and steals his wallet. She keeps slicing at his suit, but on Nathan's order, reluctantly lets him go.

Eun-mi and Sang-ung make a run for it with her red bag full of drugs. Once they reach the dance floor, Nathan throws money at the clubgoers and announces that the red bag is free for whoever gets it. The chaos ensues, Eun-mi is knocked out, and the drunk clubgoers pile up on Sang-ung, who is holding the red bag. His suit is torn, and he reluctantly realizes that this isn't the best time for a family dinner. Min-suk keeps calling as she awkwardly waits with their parents.
