Published: Dec 30 2025

I was one of the few fortunate souls who relished Castle Rock's inaugural season, embracing its ambiguous, enigmatic finale with open arms. And with Castle Rock's second season, we find ourselves on a higher plane, poised to captivate a wider audience. Continuing from last week's exhilarating episode, the show returns to the present day, setting the stage for a climactic conclusion that promises to be as riveting as ever.

Castle Rock – Season 2 Episode 6 1

We find Rita in a group therapy session, confessing her past as an addict while cryptically hinting at Annie and her inexplicable pull. As she moves on to her mobile home, we're updated on Joy's phone call with her biological mother. As Rita consults with Chance about Joy's whereabouts, the air is thick with tension; her silence speaks volumes before she shuts the door in his face.

Meanwhile, Annie is rescued from her drunken stupor by a silent Ace and taken home. Nadia, on the other hand, questions Abdi about the events that transpired five years ago with Pop. As they stare into each other's eyes on the porch, Ace engages in a gruesome act, murdering a random couple and stashing their bodies in coffins beneath Marsten House, initiating a foreign prayer.

Rita arrives in Castle Rock and interrogates Chance about Joy, but remains tight-lipped, refusing to divulge much before closing the door behind her. As Annie spies Rita from afar, her panic is palpable as she rushes back into her house in search of her books.

Meanwhile, Chris awakens in Marsten Estate and finds himself face to face with his brother once again. But this time, their conversation revolves around the work they need to do and the magnitude of their mission. In the basement, the coffins are opened to reveal only one body—the other stumbles out into the open and crashes into Nadia's car. She rushes her to the hospital, where the nurses struggle to comprehend what has happened to the girl. Adding to the mystery, it emerges that she possesses two blood types. As Nadia returns to the room for further tests, she discovers the girl missing—only to learn that she's been brought back to Marsten Estate with Ace and his associates.

As the tale unfurls, Joy encounters her biological mother amidst a crescendo of emotions, while Annie ventures home to pen a heartfelt letter to Joy, entrusting it to her when they reunite amidst the foreboding woods. In a poignant confession, Annie discloses the truth, only to find the house empty upon her return. Meanwhile, Rita, with a gun at her back, hustles Annie out into the wilderness, though Annie manages a miraculous escape. As Rita's aimless shot looms to strike Annie, Joy arrives in the nick of time, injecting a redemptive agent into her shoulder. The gun drops as Rita collapses, setting the stage for the police's arrival. As Joy and Annie raise their hands in surrender, Annie cries out, "I did it," with bloodstains adorning her hands and shirt, signaling the climax of this episode.

The residents of Marsden House are plotting an ominous scheme that promises dire consequences following Rita's murder. The second half of this dramatic tale threatens to plunge Castle Rock into chaos as Marsten House's power escalates. With Annie and Joy seemingly rekindling their bond, their future looks as bleak as ever post-Rita's demise. Questions linger like dark clouds on the horizon, teasing us with what's to come next week. Yet one thing is certain: darker times await for Annie and Joy as they navigate through the tangled web of secrets and lies that binds them.
