The episode begins with Bang Tae-seob driving as he ponders his last confrontation with his wife, Sang-ah. She had accused him of marrying her solely to fulfill his ambitions, and he forcefully pinned her against the wall, kissing her. At the same time, he recalls his conversation with Yang-mi: if he pursues her, it would endanger Sang-ah’s life.

The scene shifts to a bloodied Sang-ah walking away from what appears to be a crime scene. She and Jeong-won exchange a significant glance. Sang-ah remembers Jeong-won’s warning, and we jump to another scene of Sang-ah in tears as Tae-seob questions if he’s messed up when it comes to protecting her.
Finally, Tae-sob stops and makes his way up a hill where there is a funeral site. He starts digging a grave as Yang-mi’s words of caution echo through his mind. The scene cuts to Sang-ah giving a statement at the police station; by the looks of it, she has been through a lot.
We then go back to the beginning of it all. It turns out that Tae-seob was the son of a union leader and a factory worker. His father killed himself after being sentenced to prison on bribery charges. Tae-seob vowed to become a prosecutor to get revenge but found it hard to get in with the elite. He did everything he could, yet nothing changed.
In the end, he had the idea of marrying the biggest female star in Korea at the time. He found a way to insert himself into San-ah’s life, and the rest, as they say, is history. Unfortunately, after his wedding to Sang-ah, she got involved in a tax evasion case and was ultimately canceled. Once again, Tae-seob found himself back at square one.
Despite facing numerous obstacles, he never relinquished his resolve. When he overheard a few of his colleagues discussing how Mayor Nam Hye-hyoon was untouchable due to her friendship with Yang-mi, the wife of the owner of Korea's third-largest conglomerate, he hatched a plan.
Returning home, Tae-seob found San-ah preparing for a late, mysterious meeting. It turned out she was meeting with Yang-mi, who had recently acquired shares in her agency. Yang-mi offered to help San-ah make a comeback, but at a steep price: convincing a rising actor, Bae Yun-seong, to sleep with Mayor Nam. San-ah was horrified by the proposal and walked away, despite Yang-mi's threat to ruin her career if she refused.
At home, Tae-seob comforted San-ah and professed his admiration for her tenacity. Their closeness led to a passionate encounter. The next day, Tae-seob met with his primary informant, Jeong-won, and asked her to investigate Mayor Nam and Yang-mi further. Jeong-won had been keeping tabs on the two and discovered their close relationship. They often frequented celebrities at the penthouse at the WR Hotel. Mayor Nam typically used a pseudonym, Kim Byul. Jeong-won revealed that she would be visiting the hotel the following Wednesday. Tae-seob paid her a substantial sum and promised an additional bonus if she completed the case successfully. They also discussed his wife, and she teased him for his obvious affection for San-ah.
At work, Tae-seob receives a harsh verbal reprimand from his boss, who warns him to cease his investigation into Mayor Nam. Tae-seob understands that his boss, being a congressman's cousin, will remain untouchable even if the prosecution office personnel face termination. Instead of backing down, Tae-seob meets with the eldest son of the WR conglomerate, Kwon Jong-uk. Jong-uk is not fond of his father's second wife, Yang-mi, who is trying to gain control of his inheritance. Tae-seob uses this to his advantage and promises to take down Yang-mi through Mayor Nam. In return, he requests that Jong-uk support his political campaign. Jong-uk accepts the offer after Tae-seob insists that he will remain clean.
Meanwhile, Sang-ah meets with the CEO of her agency, Eom Seung-bom, and requests his protection for Yun-seong and a rejection of Yang-mi's proposal. Eom agrees to hold off on Yang-mi as long as possible while Sang-ah finds a way to make her comeback a reality. They assume that Yun-seong will soon become a star. Simultaneously, Jeong-won, Tae-seob, and another associate infiltrate the hotel and secretly take photographs.
On Wednesday, Mayor Nam arrives at the WR Hotel, and Yang-mi warmly greets her. Simultaneously, Jeong-won, Tae-seob, and another associate infiltrate the hotel and secretly take photographs. Jeong-won and the other associate obtain the keys to Mayor Nam's hotel room and place a listening device.
On the other hand, Sang-ah realizes that Eom is selling out Yun-seong after he misses their meeting. She calls him and tries to convince him to back out of the deal. Eom reveals that Yun-seong was the one who accepted the offer, and he figures it will save their company in the end. Troubled, Sang-ah heads to the WR Hotel to stop Yun-seong.
She runs into Jeong-won, who is on his way out. Jeong-won recognizes her and calls Tae-seob to give him a heads-up. In the meantime, Sang-ah gets to Yun-seong but has a panic attack as she remembers how her former CEO forced her to perform sexual favors for a prominent man who abused her. Unfortunately, Yun-seong insists on carrying through with the plan.
On her way out, Sang-ah runs into Tae-seob at the elevator. He recognizes her too but chooses to head to Mayor Nam's room. He even ignores her calls. There, he takes a sex tape of her and Yun-seong. The episode ends with Mayor Nam and Yun-seong panicking as they realize what is happening.
