Published: Nov 08 2024

The fourth episode of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" kicks off with Larry perusing a "Disgruntled" letter posted on the bulletin board in the men's restroom of the golf club. Mr. Takahashi is hell-bent on uncovering the mystery writer, with Larry prominently featured on his list of suspects.

Later, at the golf club restaurant, Jeff shares with Larry that Willie Geist is keen on profiling him regarding the Atlanta incident. When the server approaches their table, Larry's frustration boils over as the restaurant ceases serving breakfast after 11 am, yet he's set on having his eggs. Desperate for a breakfast loophole, Larry attempts to cobble together a breakfast dish using Cobb salad ingredients, but the server stands firm in her refusal.

However, Larry has an ace up his sleeve—he's brought his own organic eggs to the restaurant. Despite her reluctance, the server caves in to Larry's insistence, acknowledging that the chef is well-aware of his egg obsession. This unexpected twist prompts the entire table to request breakfast as well.

Elsewhere, Irma spills the beans about her sponsor, revealing that he's suggested couples therapy for her and Larry. Larry, though initially hesitant, caves in to support Irma's "therapy journey," though he secretly harbors plans to end the relationship.

After breakfast, Jeff confesses to Larry that he's the author of the "Disgruntled" letter, but they agree to keep this under wraps. Larry excitedly declares that this is the best thing Jeff has ever done in his life.

The couples therapy session begins with Irma baring intimate details about Larry to the therapist, who happens to be the wife of Hobie Turner, a former Seinfeld writer whom Larry knows. As Larry and Irma exit, they spot Jeff and Susie awaiting their session.

During the session, Jeff became acutely aware of the walls'paper-thin nature when a sudden sneeze echoed from the adjacent room. His anxiety mounted as Susie casually mentioned that Jeff was rumored to be the author of the discontented letter. Jeff, on edge, glanced at the building's directory and discovered that Arnold Velcheck, Takahashi's closest confidant, occupied the neighboring office. He feared that Velcheck might have overheard every word and would relay the information to Takahashi, ultimately leading to his expulsion from the golf club.

Velcheck, a urologist by profession, became the pivotal figure in Larry's devised scheme. Larry proposed that Leon schedule an appointment with Velcheck concurrently with their couples therapy session, hoping to eavesdrop through the walls. Jeff and Larry reassured Leon that his only task would be to provide a urine sample, making it seem like a mundane procedure.

Unexpectedly, Geist arrived at Larry's residence to conduct an interview. During their conversation, Geist revealed that someone had described Larry as an asshole during his research, sparking Larry's curiosity. Geist, however, refused to divulge the source. As their discussion progressed, Geist began to suspect Larry as the "Disgruntled" individual at the golf club, shifting the focus of his story away from the Atlanta incident.

Before departing, Geist politely requested to use the restroom and inquired about a reputable urologist, unbeknownst to Larry that this was a calculated move. The plan proceeded as scheduled, with Leon attending the urology appointment, but his horror knew no bounds when he realized he was to undergo a prostate exam. Larry, meantime, confirmed that every whisper could indeed be heard through the walls.

Elsewhere on the golf course, Hobie confronted Larry for being disrespectful to his wife during therapy sessions, despite the confidentiality clause. Hobie accused Larry of being the "Disgruntled" member, prompting Takahashi to appear and initiate Larry's expulsion. However, Jeff stepped forward and confessed, followed by a domino effect of other club members also admitting to being "Disgruntled."

Hobie, seeking solace, visited his wife at her office and invited her to lunch. He recounted the bizarre sequence of events, where everyone seemed to be claiming the moniker of "Disgruntled." She confidently asserted that Jeff was the true culprit. Simultaneously, Geist was undergoing his appointment with Velcheck, and both men overheard Hobie's conversation in startling detail. Adding a final layer of embarrassment, Velcheck casually mentioned that the club's chef had been surreptitiously consuming Larry's organic eggs. Geist couldn't suppress his grin, as he finally had the story he had been seeking.
