Episode 2 of Daldal commences with a **flashback** to the fateful night of Manohar's murder. Sajid and Anita (Anant) are at the **seaside**, luring Manohar and his dogs to the bridge with raw chicken. As the bait works, Anita uses the knife to kill Manohar, with Sajid encouraging her every step of the way. She then stuffs chicken into Manohar's face before returning to the beach, where they stand in a **torrential downpour**. That night, Sajid sleeps in Anita's arms after abusing the drugs she brought for him.

The episode shifts to the **present day**, where Prabhat confronts Sajid about Anant. Sajid tries to **evade** Prabhat's questions, but the latter persists, eventually prompting Sajid to lose his **cool** and ask Prabhat to desist.
Meanwhile, Rita arrives at the station and **coerces** Inspector Kamat into releasing Doctor Peddler. As she waits in her car, she **visions** her mother, Isabella, berating her for bending the rules to save herself. Isabella mocks Rita for sacrificing a case to save herself, which upset her. Rita then **lashes out** at the innocent Inspector Indu.
Inspector Kamat informs Vikram about Rita's takeover of the murder case. Vikram requests a copy of the case files for his own research. Sanjay meets Rita in private and discusses the photos they took at the press event. He urges her to ignore the murder case. Sanjay then suggests taking over a high-profile case involving an actress being stalked to keep her name in the media. The two take new photos for the press, and it's clear that Rita is not pleased with the additional responsibilities that came with her promotion.
In her cabin, she receives a call from Adi, who asks her to meet his mother for dinner. Rita agrees to the dinner, while Adi looks at the ring he had purchased to propose to Rita before they decided to end their relationship.
On the other hand, Anita (Anant) returns home and tends to her **paralysed** and **bedridden** uncle, Kaka, a former cop. She teases the old man with a cigarette he cannot smoke, which infuriates him.
Rita delves into the Manohar murder case files and discovers Manohar's phone. As she navigates through his photographs, she learns that Manohar was a selfless social worker who dedicated his pension funds to feeding stray dogs. Meanwhile, Anita is revisiting the news reports she has penned over the years. She reads about the local saviors she once praised in her articles, who had surprisingly fallen from grace, which she also documented. Indu calls Anita in for questioning due to her involvement in Manohar's murder.
At the station, Jatin speaks with Anita before she is summoned for questioning. Rita shows Anita a photo of herself from Manohar's phone. Anita reveals that she had interviewed Manohar for an article. The two women engage in a lively debate about their respective roles as a cop and a journalist.
As Anita departs, she overhears Indu talking on the phone about a similar murder case from 2018. That night, Vikram is having drinks with Kamat as they discuss Rita and how she was a thorn in the side of the male cops in their department.
Indu informs Rita about similar 2018 murders with the same modus operandi as that of Manohar's. She claims that Manohar's daughter lives in the USA. Indu asserts that all the victims were upstanding men and public saviors. Rita prompts Indu to compare the similarities in the cases, so immersed is she in the investigation that she forgets her dinner with Adi and his mother.
That night, Anita shows up at the rehab to meet Sajid. She tells Sajid that Prabhat is lying to him and urges him to abandon the man. Sajid has unwavering faith in Prabhat, but when the old man appears with Sajid's phone in his hand, Sajid is shocked, and the episode concludes.
