In the beginning of Episode 1 of Daredevil: Born Again season 2, the residents of New York believe that the city is now safer than ever with Fisk in charge. The crime rate has plummeted, and there is no longer any drama surrounding vigilantes. However, the truth is far from what it seems. While crime is still rampant, it is being controlled through Fisk's empire.

A vessel called the Northern Star heads into New York carrying military-grade weapons. Matt, as Daredevil, is on the scene, ready to take out the goons onboard. However, with the city fully in Fisk's grasp and the Anti-Vigilante taskforce out in full strength, it's more of an uphill battle than ever before to try and stop him.
A distress signal hits when the captain realizes they've been boarded by Daredevil. Matt finds himself scrambling to get free as the ship begins to sink. He washes up on shore, breathing heavily, before returning to base, where the Northern Star incident is the talk of the town. It's all over the news and Karen is still here in hiding. They need to prove these weapons are connected to Fisk, so that means Karen and Matt need to work on finding evidence.
Fisk concocts a story to pin this attack on Daredevil, before orchestrating a search mission to find the Captain and First-mate from the Northern Star. They're the only two survivors and still missing. Fisk needs to find those guys to make sure his story remains under wraps. Matt knows this is the key to stopping Fisk, and he soon learns that these guys are Cypriot nationals and have family in Astoria. Matt meets with Cherry and gives him the details, guiding the investigation in the right direction.
Attorney General Steverud arrives to see Fisk next and questions his Safer Streets initiative. He knows that the initiative is going to come under scrutiny from the higher-ups... but it doesn't. In fact, when eccentric Mr. Charles shows up, hot from Langley, it doesn't take long for the AG to play ball and bend the knee to Fisk.
As a result of all this, Jack Duquesne remains behind bars, facing questions about his mental state. Despite being seen by Dr. Heather Glenn, he insists on a trial. However, Heather reminds him that the usual authorities are not overseeing this, and he's not going to see the light of day anytime soon. Interestingly, Heather is still haunted by the Muse attack from last season and continues to see his spirit everywhere she goes. Kirsten, determined to see this case through, is confident she has the evidence to get him out.
Meanwhile, BB continues to deliver her BB Reports with feelings from those in New York, who are happy that crime is down and people are living much better now. However, she knows that Fisk killed her uncle, so she's working with Karen to bring him down once and for all.
Someone has clearly watched too much of "Mr. Robot" and one of these videos includes a mocking Fisk mask and his propaganda campaign. After the Task Force raided a restaurant called Aegean Gardens, its owner, Ariana, feigned ignorance. She received a smack in the face for her troubles before the Force found the First Mate of the ship hiding out.
Matt arrives to oversee the damage in the aftermath of this incident, questioning Ariana. She admits to running a side-hustle getting people out of New York. Matt is determined to continue seeing this through, although time is of the essence given that Buck kills off the First Mate in secret.
Buck updates Fisk on what's happened, who's actually in the middle of a big chat with Mr. Charles.
Charles is using the port for his own nefarious purposes, and we're still unclear about exactly what he's up to. He ruthlessly suggests a clean-up operation in the middle of the night, convinced that he can easily assemble a "little night crew" of sailors from around the world. After they offload their goods in the Red Hook warehouse, Charles is confident that he can make them all disappear in an "industrial accident." To his surprise, Fisk gives the green light to this plan.
Meanwhile, another ally, working in the shadows in Ariana, reaches out to the Captain of the Northern Star for help. Unfortunately, Cherry also needs assistance as the Task-Force arrives at his door, seeking answers about his mission to find the Greek sailors. Just when things seem bleakest, Matt shows up, determined to save Cherry before it's too late.
However, Cherry's heart palpitations distract Matt from his fighting, reminding him of the way Foggy died. As he's wrestled to the ground by the men, Matt's mask is ripped off, and it doesn't look good. But an unlikely ally comes in the form of Bullseye. He dispatches the Taskforce and leaves behind a knife, so Matt knows precisely who saved his life.
With a mix of suspense, drama, and unexpected twists, this scenario is full of tension and excitement.
