She remains circumspect, fearing that "he's always listening."

Presently, Leila finds herself in conversation with Cotesworth, disclosing that the Colliers fell prey to blackmail. She sternly warns him against pursuing Viktor Sams.

Elsewhere, Sunil and Imogene deposit the refugees with Jules' contact on the mainland. As they bid farewell, Sunil notices Imogene's exhaustion, and she vents her frustration about the dire situation she's embroiled in. When the mention of the shipment bill for Captionem Blue arises, Sunil reveals his knowledge of a forensic accountant on Malta who might offer assistance. However, they'd be compelled to spend the night. Sunil secures accommodations for them at a nearby hotel.

Death and Other Details – Season 1 Episode 5 1

Meanwhile, Cotesworth visits the brig, where Jules and Winnie Goh are being detained. He interrogates Winnie about Viktor Sams, but she feigns ignorance of the name. Alexandra confronts Tripp with compromising photos of them together. He assures her that he'll handle the situation, and they once again find solace in each other's arms. Eleanor and Anna also share a tender moment, though Anna insists that it cannot happen again.

Leila returns to their quarters, urgently telling Anna that they must abandon the boat for her safety. A flashback to six months ago transpires, revealing Leila in her journalistic guise, interviewing a former NSA agent. He reveals that Viktor Sams' name surfaced on the dark web, linked to cryptocurrency accounts. But his investigation led to pornographic material being planted on his computer, costing him his job and family.

On her way home, Leila's car malfunctions, veering off the road despite her frantic efforts to control it. Back in the present, Leila confides in Anna that the waitress's actions were orchestrated by an unnamed man. Anna attributes this to Leila's frayed mental state, but the truth remains elusive.

The following morning, Agent Hilde relaxed with a sense of accomplishment, firmly believing the case had been solved. Meanwhile, Cotesworth engaged in conversation with Katherine, mentioning Viktor Sams, yet she dismissed him as a mere figment of imagination. Father Toby conversed with Eleanor, revealing that he had granted her her heart's desire.

Elsewhere, the Chuns' revised terms awaited review by Lawrence and the board's esteemed members. Llewellyn, unable to resist, flirted shamelessly with Hilde. Across the sea, Imogene awoke to a breathtaking vista, greeting the day with a refreshed spirit. She rendezvoused with Sunil, who informed her of a scheduled meeting with Ines at the stroke of five. Ines specialized in the intricate documentation of international trade, a field both Imogene and Sunil found fascinating.

As the pair explored the enchanting sights of Malta, they admired the captivating paintings of Caravaggio. Teddy visited Jules in confinement, bringing him tidings of the refugees' safe arrival in Malta. Her encounter with Winnie, however, was far from pleasant, as the latter taunted her without divulging any information. Later, Simon and Teddy engaged in a heated debate over Winnie's fate, their emotions running high.

Anna confronted Katherine with questions about her relationship with Toby, particularly in light of Anna's recent discovery. Katherine defended herself, claiming she was merely protecting their family. Anna and Leila attempted online therapy, but Leila's frustration quickly boiled over, leading her to abruptly abandon the session. She accused Anna of disbelief and declared her desire for a divorce.

Meanwhile, Tripp discussed his cryptocurrency startup with a friend named Brad. Brad proposed a lucrative partnership, offering to invest a million dollars if Tripp did the same. Tripp eagerly approached his father, Lawrence, seeking funds from his trust. Lawrence advised him to consult with Charlie, the trustee, regarding the matter.

Imogene and Sunil continued to enjoy the sunny splendor of Malta, their days filled with laughter and exploration. However, their idyllic vacation was interrupted when Sunil confessed that funding the ship had depleted his finances, leaving him technically bankrupt. He playfully probed Imogene for her own deep, dark secret, but she dismissed the idea with a laugh.

Anna and her family gathered with the Chuns, expecting to finalize the terms of their agreement. However, they were stunned to learn that the Chuns' new terms included acquiring a controlling stake in Collier Mills. Anna rose to leave in protest, but Lawrence, seeing an opportunity, quickly accepted the deal, much to Anna's dismay.

After a thorough search of her quarters, Leila stumbled upon a clandestine camera, hidden away from plain sight. She promptly informed Cotesworth and Teddy of her discovery, and together they deduced that it must have been planted by one of Sams' men. This meant the camera had been secretly installed before the guests had even boarded the ship.

Elsewhere, Sunil and Imogene encountered Ines, a woman who confidently assured them that she could unearth the crucial information...but only if she were allowed to take the shipment bill with her. A mere photograph would not suffice. As they made their way back, Imogene's keen eyes spied a man in a crisp white suit tailing them. They managed to elude him, hailing a taxi and making a hasty getaway to the docks.

Meanwhile, Alexandra confronted Llewellyn in the confines of an elevator. He grudgingly admitted to having kept tabs on Tripp but claimed ignorance regarding any blackmail schemes. He then retreated to his room, where Hilde awaited him with an air of mystery. Alexandra, on the other hand, found herself in a desperate situation, rummaging through a compartment to retrieve a file that seemed to hold some sort of leverage against the Colliers.

As they made their way back to the ship, Imogene confided in Sunil about the heartache she had endured when Rufus left her. Sunil, filled with empathy, leaned in for a tender kiss that seemed to soothe her broken heart.

Later, Teddy briefed Cotesworth and Leila on the fact that two-thirds of the crew had already been on board prior to the arrival of the guests. Cotesworth, a keen observer, scanned the ship's route map and blueprints, a realization slowly dawning on him. He made his way to a different section of the ship and, with a determined effort, broke down a section of the wall. Inside, they uncovered something that Cotesworth declared to be the entirety of Sams' operation, a revelation that would shake the Death and Other Details to its core in Episode 5.
