In the final episode of DTF St. Louis season 1, Detective Homer and Plumb continued their probing interrogation of Clark. Clark revealed that the person he paid to pose as Tiger Tiger had also met with Modern Love. Homer set out to interview Modern Love, while Plumb engaged Carol in conversation.

We learn that Clark was the one who invited Floyd to the pool house, urging him to bring his beloved Playgirl magazine. He had planned a surprise for Floyd and asked him to stay at the Quality Garden the night before. Floyd informed Carol that he was going out of town for work, spending the night at Quality Garden before heading to the pool house as arranged.
The surprise turned out to be Clark himself. He confessed his love for Floyd and encouraged him to love himself. Clark shared that it was the current Floyd, not the one in the Playboy magazine, who had made him feel better. They comforted each other amidst their shared confusion, bodies, and unfulfilling jobs. They stripped down to their underwear and danced together.
Clark's true motive for meeting Floyd was to give him the gift he had been yearning for through the DTF app: witnessing a man aroused for him. Clark tried valiantly to make Floyd feel seen, but he could not arouse him. Despite his love for Floyd, it wasn't that kind of love, so he left the pool house disheartened.
Beyond the mystery of his death, another lingering question in the final episode was what happened to Floyd's penis. It transpired that Floyd's decision to switch careers to ASL was a severe blow for Carol. Through Clark's revelations and a flashback, we learn that Carol grew up in a low-income family and was once convicted, for stealing toilet paper as a child.
Floyd's pursuit of his dream at the expense of their financial security was particularly hard on her, especially when he told her that marrying him meant perpetual struggle. Consequently, Carol was, and Richard, blaming Floyd for upsetting his mother, struck where it mattered most - with a baseball bat.
The result was a curved penis; a price Floyd was willing to pay to make Carol cry in front of Richard.
The mystery of Floyd's demise was finally unraveled when it was revealed that Queece, the teenage president of the Umpires' Association, had delivered the Umpire of the Year award to Carol at her residence around the time of Floyd's death. Queece had witnessed Carol sleeping on the couch, thus clearing her of any involvement.
Clark's name was also cleared when they learned that Richard had gone to the pool house and witnessed them dancing. However, Clark left shortly thereafter, and The Fake Tiger Tiger vouched for him.
Upon learning about Richard's bizarre episodes and his role in causing the curved penis scandal, Homer and Plumb suspected him of being the killer and questioned him. It turned out that Richard was at home, going through Floyd's daily routines on Floyd's laptop, when he saw Floyd's DTF profile. He had a severe outburst, breaking a window, and Carol had to take him to the hospital.
Later, when Carol was asleep, Richard rode his recumbent bike to the pool house to confront Floyd. There, he saw them dancing in their underwear. Richard spoke harsh words to Floyd, who didn't respond or try to explain himself. He merely made a gesture that Richard interpreted as "rock on," allowing him to leave. After that, Floyd drank the rest of his Bloody Mary. Whether he was merely trying to drown his sorrows and stress after being caught in a compromising situation by Richard or if he was attempting to take his own life remains unclear, but the result was his death. Floyd was the one who scratched his face on the Playgirl magazine.
After his release, Clark returned home to find the house empty with Eimy and his daughters gone. The episode revealed that Clark was desperately lonely, which led to his affair with Carol and his complex feelings about Floyd. He was afraid that he had ruined everything, and indeed, he did. He ended up alone with his only friend dead, having lost his job, no mistress left, and his family had abandoned him.
Carol purchased adult-sized furniture for Richard's room, much to his delight. As he embarked on his new school journey and rode his recumbent bike, he learned a heartwarming revelation about Floyd's sign that said "I Love You." Despite Floyd's cruel words, his heart remained true to Richard. At the episode's conclusion, Richard visits the skate park bench where Floyd practiced his daily gymnastics, remembering his wise words: "If you start doing it every day, then you can do it every day." It seems that Richard will continue to strive for self-improvement daily, adhering to his routine.
After the case, Plumb and Homer sat on Plumb's porch discussing sexual fetishes. They attempted to deduce Homer's fetishes, with Plumb laughing at how normal he seemed and finding it peculiar. Homer acknowledged his initial missteps in handling the case, commended Plumb for a job well done, and departed.
