Episode 7 of "Echoes of the Past" kicks off with a haunting flashback, where Yassin and Sawsan impart a grim fate to Nadia – an abortion. Nadia, defiant, retaliates by exposing Sawsan's illicit affair. Yassin, stern and unyielding, orders her to stay out of their domestic turmoil. Left alone, Yassin's mask of indifference slips, revealing his astonishment, while Sawsan calls him out for his pretenses, reminding him that their love had long withered away. Yet, weary of her dominant grip, he demands she sever ties with her lover, asserting his newfound control over their lives.
In the present day, Yehia's heart wrenchs as he beholds Fatla being led away. Meanwhile, Khaled, with a keen eye, spots Mona in the lobby and sends her a warning text: mention not Yehia to the authorities if she wishes to steer clear of trouble. Layla and Ali's arrival interrupts his thoughts, as they rush to Mona's side. Recognizing Layla from the desert party, Khaled's mind races.
Determined to seek justice for Fatla, Yehia confronts Maldini, who readily agrees to aid in his quest for vengeance. In a cunning plan, Maldini dons Yehia's attire, drawing Khaled into a trap in the parking lot. As Khaled plunges a knife into the disguised Maldini, it buys Yehia the crucial moment to strike back, shooting Khaled and shoving him off the edge. Khaled tumbles onto the spikes below, his life extinguished. Yehia dashes to Maldini, now mortally wounded, who finds solace in knowing he can finally reunite with Fatla with an unbowed spirit.
Back at his place, Yassin repeatedly dials Khaled's number, unaware that Yehia has taken the receiver. Yehia's voice, filled with vengeful intent, declares his impending arrival. As he enters, he finds Layla unexpectedly at his home. He urges her to leave, fearing for her safety as those close to him meet misfortune. But Layla, persistent, seeks answers about how he tracked Mona, realizing he followed her trail to the hotel. Despite his claim of having no other choice, her heart breaks, and she leaves in distress.
Ali stands steadfast by Mona's side as the police grill her. They piece together clues: Khaled's last call was to Yassin, Fatla's connection to Maldini, and Mona's silence on the matter. Mona, calm and composed, redirects them to Yassin. Outside, she encounters him waiting, reassuring him of her silence. However, her tone darkens as she drops a bombshell – she knows he is responsible for Nadia's death. Yassin's face registers genuine shock.
Next, the officers interrogate Yassin, who asserts his intention to hire Khaled for his factory. Although suspicion has not yet fallen heavily upon him, they instruct him to remain within the country's borders. However, a more pressing dilemma awaits him as he confronts Sawsan. Enraged by her meddling that ruined his relationship with Mona, he warns her of exposing the truth. (Isn't Sawsan the culprit behind it all?) But it's already too late, as a guilt-ridden Mona summons Yehia to a theater. They reminisce about their past movie date, and she sorrowfully confesses that he was her first love, whose relationship her father had cruelly shattered.
A flashback unveils the sequence of events that led to Mona's turmoil – she attempts to dissuade Nadia from diving due to her pregnancy. Frustrated by her parents' restrictions, Nadia snaps at Mona, accusing her of trying to control her life. She reveals Sawsan's betrayal, which Mona denounces as a lie. This altercation is the one Sherif had surreptitiously recorded.
Just before the dive, a restless Mona inquiries how long they would be absent. Seizing the moment, she decides to return to the beach house via the boat to confront Sawsan about the affair. Upon learning of Nadia's demise, guilt gnaws at her for having taken the boat, rendering her unable to sleep throughout the night.
During this tormented vigil, she catches Yassin burying her knife in the garden. Seizing it, she confronts Sawsan, accusing Yassin of being the murderer. Sawsan implores her to keep silent, reminding her of the family's ongoing tragedy. Additionally, Mona, along with Sherif, had attempted to prevent Yehia from falsely confessing to the police.
In the present, Yehia cannot forgive her apology, and Mona reluctantly acknowledges her wrongdoing in remaining silent and fleeing.
She strides purposefully towards her home, where she encounters Layla, who has been enlightened by Ali about her tumultuous past with Yehia. Layla's jealousy is palpable, while Mona stands in disbelief as she accuses Layla of jeopardizing her and Ali's lives due to Yehia's actions. With a steadfast resolve, Mona confesses that she has unveiled the truth to Yehia, believing he deserves to know. Layla, meanwhile, trembles in fear for Yassin's safety. Mona lambasts her for shielding a murderer who has shown no remorse for his own kin.
Just as the tension reaches its zenith, Sawsan arrives, her timing impeccable. She warns the young ones that Yassin poses a grave threat to them all. She confesses her silence over the past fifteen years, citing Ali's incarceration and Layla's illness as reasons. However, she asserts that the moment to dismantle Yassin's power has finally arrived.
Sawsan and Ali orchestrate a masterful coup, securing the loyalty of the shareholders. The board unanimously decides that Ali should helm the company, forcing Yassin to relinquish his position. Yassin's heart shatters upon realizing that Layla has aligned with Sawsan. His shock deepens when Ali produces a photograph of him with Khaled, threatening to expose him to the authorities.
As Echoes of the Past Episode 7 draws to a close, Yassin attempts to flee, only to be confronted by Sawsan in private. She taunts him, asserting that no one would believe his claims of her guilt in Nadia's murder now. Yet, Yassin remains steadfast, refusing to retreat. He departs abruptly after receiving a call from Layla, with Yehia tailing his vehicle intently.
