Fallout – Season 2 Episode 4

Published: Jan 09 2026

Episode 4 of Fallout season 2 commences in the past, on the Alaskan Front. Cooper and Charles Whiteknife are together on a raid, encountering issues with their Brotherhood suits. Despite being instructed to continue with their mission, Coop lies to his friend, protecting Charlie and instructing him to leave while he continues alone. It doesn't take long for Coop to be ambushed by a group of Chinese soldiers speaking Mandarin. They pepper him with bullets, but before killing the guy, Coop is saved at the last second by a Deathclaw. It appears and rips the soldiers to shreds. However, it doesn't kill Coop for...reasons? When it scarpers off, Coop's radio fizzles in, confirming that the mission has been a success. Unbeknownst to them, of course, the Deathclaw did all the hard work.

Fallout – Season 2 Episode 4 1

In the present, Maximus decides to bring Thaddeus with him back to base, pretending to be Xander in the armour. With the kids' lives on the line, he doesn't have much of a choice but to play ball. Plus, we've seen this chapter of the Brotherhood is idiotic, so he'll fit right in. When Maximus lands, Dane approaches. Out in the open, Maximus tells Dane about the plan involving Thaddeus posing as the deceased Xander, before announcing he's going to kill Quintus. In the meantime, though, he needs them to look after the kids and take them to safety. They do just that and hide the new recruits in the back.

Inside the cafeteria, Yosemite Elder approaches Thaddeus and buys that he's Xander. As they talk, Maximus approaches Quintus and prepares to fire. However, he lets his guard down, and a firefight breaks out. When Maximus escapes, Dane approaches and hands over the Fusion Core to him. They urge Maximus to get as far away as possible while the Brotherhood descends into anarchy. Nobody chases after them.

As for Lucy, she awakens to find herself with that rabble of NCR soldiers from the last episode and the Ghoul. Rodriguez, the one in charge here, offers up some guns and even an open invitation for Lucy to join them, given they're looking to restore justice in the wasteland. Lucy politely declines and heads off on her way with the Ghoul.

Meanwhile, the vaults are subject to strict water rationing. Betty is struggling and attempts to negotiate with Steph, who has clearly taken over as the Overseer. However, she plays hardball. The only way Steph will grant access to her water supply is if Betty retrieves a lockbox that Hank brought with him to Vault 31. Apparently, there's something "personal" inside.

Speaking of rations, Norm leads his group outside where they find a plethora of food. While they hunker down and eat, Norm is approached by Ronnie. This guy was actually Bud's personal assistant, and despite only taking lunch orders, he also knows about the experiment and how crucial Phase 2 is to everything.

As they negotiate, Woody happens to overhear all of this. He approaches Stephanie later and confronts her about breaking protocol. Woody is hastily dismissed from the room, which gives Chet the opportunity to search through Steph's belongings. Inside her purse, he finds evidence of a Canadian ID card.

Back to the Ghoul and Lucy, they approach New Vegas and decide to enter through Freeside. It's a good place to stock up on supplies, but Lucy doesn't like the idea of taking a detour. Instead, she decides to march straight up to the front door.

Lucy suddenly grabs a gun and systematically shoots a multitude of Elvis Ghouls without even blinking. Part of this stems from her newfound addiction to drugs, which is helping to focus her strength and shooting skills. When they arrive in New Vegas though, the place is largely abandoned. The Ghoul realizes that radiation could be playing a part here as it becomes clear that there are Deathclaws in the heart of the city.
