For Wes, Csonka's actions hit home with a poignant resonance, as he was responsible for the tragic death of Wes's partner, Mike Brooks. Mike, a devoted husband and father of two innocent young girls, was brutally killed by Csonka, plunging his family into an abyss of grief.Wes was relentless in his pursuit of justice for his fallen friend and had agreed to testify against Csonka in court.

However, the trial unfolded in unexpected twists and turns. Csonka's defense attorney, a slick American lawyer, challenged Wes's credibility by delving into his troubled past and his complex history with Csonka. Though they hadn't been inmates at the same time, they had both spent time in a juvenile facility. Csonka had previously assaulted Trevor Ochoa, a childhood friend of Wes, which had fueled a deep-seated animosity towards Csonka within Wes. The defense attorney cunningly used this past to cast aspersions on Wes's testimony, suggesting that he had fabricated evidence against Csonka. This accusation pushed Wes to the brink, causing him to lose his composure on the witness stand.

The Hungarian legal system added another layer of complexity to the unfolding courtroom drama, where the judge's apparent bias towards Csonka's attorney cast a shadow over the proceedings, and Wes's personal past was thrust into the spotlight. The prosecution stood on the precipice of abandoning the case, and Wes's emotional outburst only further jeopardized their cause.

In a last-ditch effort, the Fly Team redirected their focus to Csonka's involvement in Vilmos's brutal murder. They meticulously traced the financial trail and uncovered a scheme where a prison guard had been bribed. Under the weight of scrutiny, the guard confessed, claiming he believed Csonka intended only to rough up Vilmos, never anticipating a fatal outcome. Initially, the prison authorities declined to cooperate with the investigation, but the Fly Team's relentless pursuit led to the apprehension of the guard and the tracing of funds to Csonka's financial facilitator in Hungary.

However, the financial handler took his own life as the team closed in, leaving behind cryptic records of Csonka's transactions. With time slipping through their fingers, the Fly Team devised a daring bluff, offering Csonka a plea deal of 30 years in a harsher prison in hopes of securing a conviction. Csonka, desperate for an escape, accepted the deal. But during his transfer, a truck rammed into the convoy, and heavily armed attackers emerged from the shadows. In the midst of the ensuing chaos, Csonka slipped through the fingers of justice, while Wes and Vo chased him in a police cruiser.

Tragedy struck when a sniper's bullet pierced through the chase, critically wounding Vo. Wes's priorities shifted instantaneously, his sole focus now on saving Vo's life, allowing Csonka to slip away in the confusion. Vo was rushed to the hospital, her condition grimly deteriorating, leaving Wes with a soul-wrenching decision: to abandon his badge and embark on a personal vendetta against Csonka.

The episode concludes with Wes and the Fly Team tracking Csonka to an abandoned airfield, where he had already boarded a plane and taken flight. As Vo's life hangs by a thread and Csonka remains at liberty, the Fly Team is confronted with an overwhelming challenge. The episode leaves viewers breathless, suspended on the edge of their seats, questioning the fate of Vo and the lengths Wes will go to seek justice for those he has lost.
