The following day, as Martyn immerses himself in a seminar, Rebecca's children engage in lively play at home, accompanied by their friends. Through a telephone conversation, we gather that she has intercepted a voice message intended for Martyn, where the woman invites him to her room, revealing a hint of their recent liaison. In an attempt to navigate this turmoil, Martyn seeks counsel from his lawyer once more, but to no avail. Desperate, he approaches Jan's landlord, pleading for eviction or the sale of the apartment, yet the landlord stands firm, refusing his plea.
The episode culminates with Martyn placing a call to his mother, seeking solace perhaps, while Rebecca and her children opt to seek refuge at a friend's house, leaving behind the chaos and heartache that once was their home.
