Filing For Love – K-Drama Episode 2

Ki-jun's second episode of "Filing for Love" begins with a bizarre dream where he finds himself in an awkward and compromising situation with In-a. The dream serves as a foreshadowing of the drama that unfolds in the office later in the day.

Filing For Love – K-Drama Episode 2 1

Upon arriving at the office, Ki-jun learns from the coffee shop attendant that the affair he witnessed was indeed real. He's even given a new nickname—a playful term for fainting—by his colleagues, who can't help but glance at him with amusement. Even Jeon Jae-yeol, the Vice President's secretary, checks up on him, adding to the buzz.

Ki-jun is dissatisfied to learn that In-a closed the case by demoting Mi-young to a subsidiary while Myung-soo retains his position and the project they were working on. He argues that Myung-soo caused more harm because he was married, but In-a counters that Myung-soo always did well at work and is in charge of a new brand that the Food Team has invested in. Mi-young, on the other hand, only played a part in Myung-soo's projects, and her performance and reputation are below his. From the company's perspective, Mi-young has done more harm than Myung-soo.

Ki-jun tries to argue from a moral perspective, but In-a reminds him that they are neither judges nor police officers. Companies don't reward the good and punish the bad; they only care about the profit or loss caused by an employee.

Ki-jun's next case takes a turn for the bizarre when he discovers that the company parking lot, Zone F, on the fourth floor, has become a love motel for company employees due to a lack of CCTV cameras. The investigation promises to be just as intriguing as the first.

Gwang-il directs a thorough investigation into the matter, utilizing their established "Humint network" which involves engaging with the company's support staff, including guards and cleaners, to gather information. We are introduced to a married couple working at Haemu Group: Ms. Yeon and Mr. Kwon. They maintain a distance at work, just as they did during their dating days, to keep their relationship secret. Their colleagues wonder why they still keep their distance, even though everyone knows they are married.

Ms. Yeon texts Mr. Kwon to inform him that she will be having drinks with friends, including Jun-seo, with whom she seems to have a connection. At the office, Ms. Seon accidentally falls onto Mr. Kwon's lap, and they continue to steal glances at each other afterwards.

Meanwhile, A-jeong surprises Ki-jun at his apartment on her birthday. They were once in a relationship, and she asked him out, ghosted him, and then showed up at his house unannounced two years later. A-jeong wants to stay at Ki-jun's house for a while until she finds a new place. While having a beer, Ki-jun expresses his frustration with being assigned to team three, and A-jeong assures him that he is the best person for the job, something In-a said when she transferred him.

Ki-jun starts to suspect that A-jeong might have seen him with Ji-hye. He spends the day racking his brain, and it turns out that In-a did see him in that compromising situation with Ji-hye. Later, he learns from A-jeong that Director Kim of the strategic planning department is looking for a drinking buddy. The director informs him that he is creating a new team, General Business Control HQ, and that he has requested Ki-jun's inclusion. Ki-jun is thrilled to realize he might soon escape the team's PM cases.

Meanwhile, Jun-seo asks Ms. Yeon out, and they almost kiss. She calls her husband, who is finishing work late with Ms. Seon, and they end up having sex in the car at Zone F.

The next morning, Ki-jun is excited on his way to work, and the director, Kim, sends him a message saying that the president has approved the General Business Control HQ. At work, he runs into the happy couple, whose intimacy has sparked after their parking lot encounter.

Everyone else in team three is busy, and Ki-jun has no partner to work on the stakeout. Ki-jun decides to instigate In-a since he is leaving the team soon and suggests that she join him on the stakeout. Their stakeout is successful: they catch some employees in the act, but the colour drains from Ki-jun's face when they realize the person they caught is Director Kim. Unlike Myung-soo's case, In-a informs Ki-jun that Director Kim will not be let off, and the company will most likely revoke his contract and fire him. It turns out that Jae-yeol does not like him because he does not perform and depends on his close relationship with the President to stay at the company. Ki-jun's hopes of leaving Team Three are out the window.

Later that night, Ki-jun heads home for dinner with his three elder sisters and mother. They notice that he is depressed, and they all go into protective mode, threatening to file a lawsuit and take care of whoever hurt their only youngest brother.

Meanwhile, at the office, In-a pores over the files Ki-jun sent on Haemu Pharmaceuticals, pondering whether to erase them or keep them. Elsewhere, Jae-yeol reports to his father about Director Kim's incident, feeling disappointed to learn that Jae-yeol did not discover the truth and that it was all an accident. He believes that Jae-yeol is still not fit to inherit the company and must prove that he is not like his mother. Suddenly, the president's youngest son, Sung-yeol, appears, and it turns out that he was exiled. He is disappointed in his two sons, as Jae-yeol is too soft to accomplish anything substantial, while Sung-yeol is too reckless. Sung-yeol hands the President a project agreement with a Saudi Arabian gas plant worth 8.77 billion dollars and requests an end to his exile so he can join the head office.

During the team dinner to welcome In-a, Ki-jun erupts in anger at In-a for the transfer, solely because she kissed someone. The next morning, Ki-jun feels utterly embarrassed to face In-a and contemplates quitting the job. His situation at work worsens when he realizes that In-a knows about his potential transfer to General Business Control HQ and that he spoke about her behind her back.

Ki-jun has had enough and intends to resign, but he receives an anonymous tip accusing In-a of an inappropriate workplace relationship. At the end of the episode, In-a meets a man in secret. The man is wearing a wedding ring.
