Florida Man – Season 1 Episode 4

Published: Jun 26 2024

At the dawn of Florida Man's fourth episode, a poignant rewind unfolds, revisiting Buzz and Steve's fateful encounter. Prior to that, Iris's memory drifts back to her trip to Atlantic City with Mike, where his fascination with gambling overshadowed her own. As Iris's plane gracefully descended into Orlando, Buzz's gaze followed its trajectory, as if watching a destined omen.

When Steve learned of the gold, his rage propelled him to confront Sonny, yet in his moment of reckoning, he failed to foresee Buzz's resolve. Delly, initially suspected of opening a portal to the past through his father, surprisingly revealed Eric's father as the one restrained to the bed, his dementia rendering him helpless.

Delly, seeking refuge in the washroom, inquired about the tumultuous situation with Mike. Sonny and Ray devised a plan to conceal Steve's body in the Porsche's trunk, a seemingly fitting retribution for Buzz's act. Mike, intent on retrieving cleaning supplies from Palm's, was intercepted by Clara, who eagerly offered her assistance for a little extra pay.

As Sonny, Ray, and Buzz covertly disposed of Steve's body, they stumbled upon a police presence responding to a report of potential elder abuse. Delly, having alerted the authorities about Eric's condition, escaped through a window, leaving the truck undisturbed.

That night, Delly and Mike reunited in a passionate embrace, signifying the restoration of their once-fractured bond. Amidst this turmoil, Moss dispatched Dutch, a friend of his father's, to track down Mike.

The following day, Andy mulled over Sonny's harsh treatment of Mike, his wife Missy vainly attempting to dissuade him from pursuing the matter. Sonny devised a daring scheme: using airbags to float the truck to the surface, unloading the gold in an unguarded church, and then submerging it again. Meanwhile, Kaitlin sent Mike a cryptic warning, hinting at a secret she had uncovered from his past.

Dutch stumbled upon Clara and Benny's deception regarding Mike's whereabouts, yet he chose to remain silent. Meanwhile, Iris ventured to Patsy's abode, where the two women conversed about Mike. Upon realizing Iris's intent to aid her case, Patsy reluctantly opened up about him. Unexpectedly, Dutch knocked on the door, and Delly, unaware of his identity, answered. He asked to use the bathroom, and the encounter passed with little notice.

In a laundromat, Ketcher borrowed clothes from a machine, his emotions spilling over as he spoke of his plight. He had traveled a long way, spending heavily, just to leave his children with fond memories. As Dutch departed, his eyes caught a glimpse of Mike in his car, and he silently pursued.

Iris approached the dock master's office, requesting CCTV footage, while Mike made his way to Patsy's home. She assured him that if her family remained safe, Mike was always welcome in their lives. He also pleaded with Patsy to convince Jason's mother to relinquish her son.

Kaitlin visited the police station, seeking the help of her college friend Meghan to track Mike's phone number. Mike alerted Sonny that he was being tailed, providing the license plate number of his pursuer. However, when Sonny instructed Andy to run the plate, he refused to comply.

Mike headed to Sonny's bar, where Delly briefed him on the Dutch situation. Sonny, sensing the heat, once again offered Mike his boat and a share of the gold, but Mike turned down the deal. Delly warned that Moss would soon learn of their whereabouts, urging them to leave. Mike, however, remained reluctant.

The sinkhole, now guarded by security cameras, posed a new challenge for the group. Yet, Dutch doggedly tracked Mike there, handling the encounter with surprising finesse. He even promised Dutch a hefty sum of 5,000 to keep silent until Mike disclosed his findings to Moss.

Ray materialized at the sinkhole, dispatched by Sonny to eliminate Dutch, who had now discovered Patsy's residence. However, Mike swiftly concealed Dutch in a portable toilet, averting the impending threat. A fierce struggle erupted between Ray and Mike, resulting in Dutch's phone falling into the toilet. As Dutch ignited it, an explosion erupted, claiming his life. Iris watched the security footage, catching a glimpse of Delly. Ironically, Dutch's phone emerged unscathed from the toilet, and Moss's call rang through.
