In Episode 3 of Flunked, the students and staff embark on a journey to Normandy. Lucie's voiceover begins, narrating to Eddy about the five potential targets who could be Sagirov's child: Sandra, Louise, Oceane, Kylian, and Theo, Tiphaine's son. The goal is to obtain their DNA samples within 24 hours and match them to Sagirov's to determine who the child is.

Eddy attempts to use a clever trick by asking these five students for water, hoping they will accept a glass and he can obtain their saliva samples. However, this plan is foiled by Florian, who interrupts and confiscates the plastic glasses, stating that plastic is not good for the environment.
As they arrive in Normandy, Tiphaine is busy taking a headcount. Eddy reminisces about their high school trip to Etretat, recalling a code they had in case they needed to meet at the beach. Florian confirms the headcount and heads to help Benjamin, the only disabled student in the class. Eddy engages in small talk with Tiphaine about Florian, but she doesn't respond in the way he had hoped.
The class makes a move towards the military cemetery, where Eddy is summoned by Lucie, who is there with her family: husband and two kids. They have a brief exchange, and Eddy promises to get the samples within 24 hours.
At the cemetery, Eddy speaks to Sandra and tells her to rub a stone and place it on a tombstone. He lies and says that the person was his grandfather. As he goes to retrieve it, the real descendants walk in. Eddy convinces them to pay for the maintenance of the place.
Later, the students gather to meet a living legend from the battle, Raymond Gardoux. Eddy tries to pick a strand of Oceane's hair, but she catches him off guard.
The announcer also invites Eddy to share a few words. Sandra was the one who enlightened the host about Eddy’s real-fake story. Eddy’s speech is a complete mess: he calls the other four targets to make a toast and takes their glasses. The host takes the cups, foiling Eddy’s plans, and Eddy’s curses are heard on the microphone. Later, when everyone is enjoying their meals, Eddy notices Louise finish her meal and leave. He excuses himself to get her fork, but is caught by Tiphaine. She confronts him about his claim about his grandfather, and the waitress takes away the fork. He argues that his story is true, and excuses himself as he sees Kylian kissing a classmate, Mina. He approaches Kylian and encourages him to get intimate with Mina in a room upstairs. Soon after, he goes to check in. Raymond Gardoux intercepts him to talk about his grandfather. Eddy lies again, claiming that his father was on the rivals’ side, and starts speaking in German. The tirade kills Raymond, and Eddy continues his innocent charade. He asks Kylian about the protection gear and goes to retrieve it from the bin. He meets Lucie and delivers the samples there. Tiphaine crosses paths with them, and they have an awkward encounter when Lucie’s husband walks in. At the evening, Eddy notices a sock on Tiphaine’s door and sees it as a signal to meet her at the beach. When he goes to the bar to get some wine, he sees Oceane crying and tries to console her. He tells her to go talk things out instead of crying, and advises her to blow her nose into a tissue, which he then collects as evidence.
He ventured towards the seashore, where he encountered a handful of students, including Theo, engaged in an illicit smoke session. Lucie, the architect behind this scheme to obtain Theo's DNA, was present as well. Eddy, on his own mission, arrived at the beach to discover Tiphaine and Florin indulging in a clandestine tryst. The following day, Eddy delved through the trash in Tiphaine's room, determined to secure Theo's DNA. Tiphaine caught him in the act and he defended his actions by claiming he was merely looking out for Theo after catching him smoking. Tiphaine, seemingly unperturbed, engaged in a heartfelt conversation with Eddy about love and life, which was abruptly halted by a student's urgent announcement about Theo's predicament.
Eddy and Tiphaine rushed to the beach to find Theo standing precariously over a live landmine. The situation was dire: removing Theo's leg would likely result in the deaths of everyone present. Eddy proposed a shocking solution—replacing Theo with Benjamin, who, despite being confined to a wheelchair and unable to walk, would make a more suitable replacement in Eddy's opinion. The crowd was taken aback by this extraordinary remedy. As they departed for home, Lucie met with Eddy to collect the final DNA sample, unaware that the landmine was not active as Benjamin joined the group without incident.
At home, Lucie's husband Peter inquired about Eddy, and she lied, claiming him to be her lover. Peter soon realized that her presence was work-related and expressed his discontent. Later, Lucie spoke with Eddy on the phone, revealing that none of the DNA samples matched. When Eddy arrived at school, he was met with a protest from the students over his actions with Benjamin on the beach.
