Sheriff Boyd strode down the decrepit street, ringing his bell, a signal for the inhabitants of the town to seek shelter indoors. Lauren and her daughter Megan anxiously awaited the return of her husband Frank, unaware that he was unconscious elsewhere. As evening drew near, Megan cautiously opened her window when an elderly woman materialized outside, but their encounter ended in a tragic slaughter.
The Matthews family traveled in their RV, their journey abruptly halted by a fallen tree blocking the road. A funeral service was in progress for Lauren and Megan in the town, and the Matthews arrived during the solemn proceedings. They halted and inquired for directions, which Boyd kindly provided, but soon realized they were trapped in a perpetual loop, returning to the same town again and again.
