In the current moment, Kenny finds Boyd and escorts him to Sara. As Boyd speaks to Sara in private, she reveals that she followed him into the enigmatic tree and emerged at the church, a place she can never return to. She declares categorically that there is no going back for her. Boyd, in a secluded moment with Kenny, elucidates that Sara is intertwined with the fabric of this town, as if some unseen force is communicating with her. However, Kenny remains steadfast in his intention to imprison her within the mysterious box. Their argument escalates, ultimately resulting in Boyd collapsing to the ground.

Julie escorts Ethan to Colony House, hoping to broker a reconciliation between him and Victor, still angered by Ethan's allowance of Jade into his private space. Fatima approaches Julie with a heartfelt request, asking her to be one of her bridesmaids. Later, Julie offers to lend a sympathetic ear to Elgin should he desire to unburden his heart.

Kristi examines Boyd, yet he averts his gaze, unwilling to expose the extent of his injuries. His mind wanders to the possible cognitive ramifications of Parkinson's, a looming concern. Meanwhile, Jade discovers Bakta seated alone at the bar, drowning her sorrows in alcohol. Bakta confesses her guilt for the bus's predicament, blaming herself for the ordeal. Jade comforted her, and the two of them felt sorry for each other and were both concerned about whether their fate was fair.

Tabitha searches for Jim and finds him observing the bus occupants sorting through their belongings. He recounts to her the radio broadcast, speculating whether the town was purpose-built to gauge their reactions. Boyd is struck by a vision of Khatri at the post office, warning him not to reveal to Kenny that Sara was involved in the death of his father.

Jim visits Colony House, seeking answers from Donna about the cryptic radio message. Donna advises caution, warning him that it's not advisable to draw attention to themselves until they have a clearer understanding of the situation. Randall's paranoia over people prying into his belongings at Colony House reaches a boiling point, leading to a confrontation that culminates in Donna evicting him and relocating him to the bus, where he will now reside.

Kenny interrogates Sara about her abilities, but she remains tight-lipped, offering only a glimpse into the tragic fate of her father and her role in it. Boyd confronts Kenny at the scene of his father's demise, and Kenny accuses him of knowledge regarding Sara's involvement. Kenny declares resolutely that Sara will be confined to the box, tossing his badge contemptuously at Boyd's feet.
