The dawn following Ellis' tragic stabbing revealed an unexpected twist as Fatima disclosed her pregnancy, whispering to Kristi that she wasn't yet ready to break the news to Ellis. Outside, the clinic crew pondered over the monster's lifeless body, Boyd and Kristi eager to examine its innards, while Kenny staunchly opposed. Eventually, a consensus was reached to bring the creature indoors, sending Ellis, Fatima, and Elgin back to Colony House, their desire to keep the deceased monster a guarded secret.

Donna kept Dale confined in a room at Colony House, greeting Ellis and Fatima warmly upon their return. Inside, Jim and Tabitha clashed over the children's presence at Colony House. Meanwhile, Jim spotted Randall flying a drone overhead and lured him into the bus, initiating a casual stroll.

As the remaining clinic staff prepared to dissect the monster, Marielle suddenly fell ill, her body wracked with withdrawal symptoms. Ethan sought Victor's counsel at Colony House, querying his cold demeanor. Victor confessed he was trying to safeguard Ethan, warning him to steer clear as misfortune often befell his friends there. Nonetheless, Victor invited Ethan to assist him in measuring the trees.

Kristi tended to Marielle, tucking her into bed. Later, Kristi and Boyd confessed their fears to each other about slicing open the monster's carcass. Tabitha visited Jade at the bar, inquiring why he wasn't startled to find her in a panic in the woods. Jade recounted his own ordeal when a soldier attacked him, only to be rescued by Jim.

Jim and Randall strode towards the Matthews RV, Jim divulging about the radio voice and his suspicion that they were part of some elaborate experiment. Inside the RV, Jim retrieved the antenna, hopeful that they could attach it to the drone, enabling it to soar to unprecedented heights. Randall then posed a probing question, wondering why Jim had never considered the possibility of locals being involved in the experiment.

Julie stopped by to visit Ellis and Fatima, only to be intercepted by Elgin on her way out, who invited her for a stroll.

As Boyd, Kristie, and Kenny embarked on dissecting the mysterious monster, Kristi's knife sliced through the air, only to be met with a sudden movement from the creature. Startled, Kenny stormed out of the room in a fit of terror. Kristie, sensing his fear, chased after him. He confessed that he couldn't bear to watch her risk her life, for he loved her deeply and was afraid of what lay within the monster's belly. Alone, Kristie returned to the clinic.

Meanwhile, Marielle awoke, searching for Kristie, and her horror was compounded when she realized the monster had vanished. She screamed for help, the haunting melody of a music box filling the air just before Boyd appeared and fired at the approaching beast. Then, with a jolt, Marielle realized it had all been a dream.

Elsewhere, Fatima revealed to Donna that she was pregnant, a medical miracle as doctors had told her she could never conceive. Yet, she felt as if the place itself was taunting her. Donna reassured her, suggesting that they often perceive events as negative, yet miracles do occur.

Jade showed Tabitha a picture of Christopher and Victor, and their conversation unfolded, recounting the various anomalies they had witnessed. Tabitha peered at the symbol Jade described and revealed that she had seen it in the tunnels.

Undeterred, Boyd and Kristie resumed their dissection, and Kenny returned, offering his assistance. Once they peeled away the monster's exterior, they were astonished to find a human being within, but with shriveled organs. Frustrated, Kristie lashed out, stabbing the organs in a fit of anger, only to have bile spill from the gallbladder, which they quickly contained in a bottle.

Elgin recounted to Julie the encounter with the monster, confessing that there was something from his dream on the bus that he felt he should remember but couldn't quite grasp. Fatima steeled herself to break the news of her pregnancy to Ellis.

Boyd offered Kenny his deputy position once again, but he politely declined. In an attempt to soothe his troubled mind, Julie suggested Elgin take a bath. As he submerged himself in the water, the eerie tune of the music box filled the air, and suddenly, he was dragged beneath the surface.
