Episode 2 of Season 2 of "Gangs of London" kicks off with Billy Wallace indulging in the lap of luxury, lost in the tranquility of painting serene landscapes by his shimmering poolside. He's crafted a serene existence for himself in this secluded haven... until Serwa, an operative loyal to Marian Wallace, disrupts his peace. She delivers the unwelcome news that Elliot has returned to London, necessitating Billy's immediate return to confront the impending turmoil.
Billy, reluctantly initiating the process of packing his bags, is met with a poignant warning from his sister, Jacqueline. Her eyes filled with concern, she poses a haunting question, "When you return, who will you be?"
On the other end of town, Elliot remains shrouded in the dark shadows of the previous night's悲剧, haunted by the sight of Alex taking his own life rather than resisting the Investors. Miss Kane, sensing his turmoil, urges him to maintain composure, hinting at a crucial meeting with a Georgian "friend" who holds the key to his next assignment. Should he comply, Kane promises to reveal the whereabouts of his imprisoned father.
Elliot subsequently convenes with Koba and his menacing entourage, casually broaching the subject of a high-stakes mission: uncovering the identity of the assassin who took Koba's driver's life.
Elsewhere, Luan dials Marian, urgency lacing his voice as he demands more firearms to replenish his dwindling stock following a devastating raid on his mansion. Marian, cool and collected, assures him, "One of my men will be in touch." Unbeknownst to them, Koba silently observes the conversation from the shadows, a sinister smile playing on his lips. He commends Luan's acting prowess and instructs him to call once they've garnered more intelligence.
Koba's grip over Luan is tightened further by his possession of Luan's captive wife, rendering the gangster powerless. Ed, standing beside, exudes displeasure, reminding Koba of their unspoken rule against involving families. Koba, dismissive and callous, retorts, "If you're foolish enough to bring family into this world of ours, then they become fair game."
Ed approaches Asif with a heavy heart, only to find that the latter holds crucial news for him. Asif solemnly reveals that Alex has taken his own life, believing that something within him had irrevocably snapped. Ed, understandably, is overwhelmed with grief but manages to maintain composure until he steps into his car outside. Once behind the wheel, he drives off, struggling valiantly to keep his tears at bay.
Marian, meanwhile, is reunited with Billy, but the moment is far from joyous. Billy's thirst for vengeance, specifically against Elliot, is insatiable. Determined to end Elliot's life, Billy prepares to leave, and Marian, unwilling to lose another child, insists he take her men with him.
Koba and Ed arrive at a horrifying crime scene, where three Somalis lie dead. These individuals, connected to Koba, have suffered unspeakable violence. The gruesome scene, with bloody notes stuffed in their mouths, suggests the involvement of a different perpetrator, one not aligned with Luan or Marian.
Elliot soon joins them, and after a tense confrontation with Ed, rooted in their tumultuous past, he finally obtains the location of his father. Rushing to the residential home where his father is being held, Elliot finds him in poor condition – a broken leg and facial cuts mar his appearance, yet his spirits remain as upbeat as ever.
Asif, ever the detective, uncovers the truth through meticulous investigation. He discovers that the money for the gun shipment has been diverted through Bradbury Holdings. Previously, Finn had used this company to conceal 1.5 billion of investors' funds, and now Marian is exploiting it for her gun-running operations. The key to unraveling this mystery, it seems, lies with Finn's mistress.
Koba is eager to confront Marian immediately, but Asif urges patience, suggesting they first keep everyone in check. With this plan in mind, Asif sets off to see Rutherford, the lawyer in charge of the account. After intense negotiations, Rutherford agrees to divulge everything about the shell company, paving the way for a deeper understanding of Marian's machinations.
Luan encounters Marian’s contact, but this encounter is undeniably a trap, a realization that dawns upon him swiftly. Darragh, the intermediary set to meet Luan, fails to check in as expected, while Elliot waits patiently in a church, seeking an escape route at any cost. He knows Billy won’t sanction murder in such a holy place. Meanwhile, Ed arrives to inform Shannon of Alex's dire news. Simultaneously, Darragh endures brutal interrogation for vital information, with Luan standing by, wielding a baseball bat and coerced into collaborating with Koba. Billy, on the other hand, ventures to their former abode and dials home, yearning to hear Jacqueline’s soothing voice once more. She implores him to return, but he considers drowning his sorrows in heroin, determined to erase the agony of Sean’s demise. At the last possible moment, Billy refrains, steering clear of the drugs and venturing out instead.
Eventually, Darragh caves in and divulges Marian’s whereabouts. Elliot, eager for answers, makes his way to meet Basem at the bustling market. There, Saba confides in Elliot about Hakim’s treacherous alliance with Koba, who poses a potential threat to their endeavors. Suddenly, a ruthless assailant strikes Basem down in cold blood, right before Saba's horrified eyes. The perpetrator, after offering a hurried apology, flees the scene just as Elliot arrives. In the midst of this chaos, Billy confronts Elliot, yet refrains from pulling the trigger, instead firing a warning shot as the market erupts into a hail of bullets. Algerian vendors, seeking vengeance for Basem’s demise, unleash their fury in a relentless barrage.
In the tumultuous aftermath, Elliot grants Billy safe passage, allowing him to slip away amidst the confusion. Tragically, Elliot himself is felled by a gunshot wound to the chest. As Killian reverses the car, it careens off the dock’s edge and plunges into the water, becoming a target for a relentless hail of bullets from pursuing gangsters. As the vehicle sinks beneath the waves, Billy clings to life, holding his breath and evading the gang’s bullets as they pepper the surface.
Just when all seems lost, Billy is miraculously rescued by an anonymous figure. As the hood is pulled back, the rescuer's identity is revealed—none other than Sean Wallace, very much alive and behind the wheel of a red car. From afar, Elliot watches the dramatic rescue unfold, ultimately allowing the duo to escape unscathed.
