Meanwhile, Andre receives a startling revelation from the doctor. He learns that every time his father unleashes his powers, a microtear occurs in his neural pathways, a damage deemed irreversible. Seeking guidance, Andre confers with Polarity, who advises him to contact the costume manager to ensure his suit fits properly.

Elsewhere, Ashley and a few other board members convene to assess the nominees for entry into the Seven. Unbeknownst to them, Sam and Cate have already embarked on their dangerous mission. Sam stealthily takes out the first guard, while Cate coerces the second into unlocking the cells, freeing the imprisoned supes.

Sam returns to his room, haunted by hallucinations of Luke. Luke's ghostly presence pleads with Sam to abandon Cate's reckless plan. But the group's fate takes a turn for the worse when they stumble upon Andy's lifeless body. Cate issues a chilling command, dispersing the group to hunt down and eliminate any humans they encounter.

The supes descend upon the campus like a swarm of locusts, leaving a trail of carnage in their wake. Jordan, Marie, and Emma arrive at the woods, horrified to discover that the supes have already been unleashed.

Jeff, unaware of the chaos unfolding, stumbles upon one of the rampaging supes. He swiftly reacts, using a sonic whistle to disorient her and then delivering a fatal blow with an explosive device. But Cate, ever opportunistic, swoops in, manipulating Jeff's mind to carry out a livestream.

The board watches helplessly as the grisly scenes of the breakout unfold on their screens. Cate's manipulation reaches its crescendo when she forces Jeff to detonate another explosive, ending his life in a grisly spectacle that splatters blood across their window. The board is now fully aware of the extent of the disaster that has unfolded before their eyes.

Sam storms into Bourke's classroom, disrupting the serenity and choking Bourke with his bare hands. Emma rushes in to intervene, her eyes wide with panic, pleading with Sam to stop his violent outburst. But Sam, enraged, shoves her aside, accusing her of selfishness and attempting to control him. With a sneer, he strides away, leaving Emma shaken.

Meanwhile, Cate briefs Andre on the unfolding situation and summons him to her side. The imaginary figure of Luke persists in trailing Sam, attempting to sway his mind, but Sam remains resolute, refusing to budge. Cate, sensing Sam's anguish, employs her powers to numb his pain, a temporary balm for his tormented soul.

Marie, from her position, presses the button in Indira's room, triggering a lockdown of the entire school. Suddenly, the sonic whistle blasts to life, sending waves of agony through the supes' skulls. Bourke arrives on the scene, his face etched with panic. One of the supes, unable to bear the pain, unleashes a scream that shatters all the speakers, silencing the whistle. They scramble to contact Homelander and summon helicopters for assistance.

Grabbing phones, they issue a chilling ultimatum to the nominees: whoever eliminates the rogue supes will secure a spot in the Seven. Ashley receives a call from Marie, offering her a deal: take down the students, and she'll gain entry into the elite group.

Marie steps out, her powers on full display. She manipulates a supe, forcing him to fly into the helicopter blades, causing a catastrophic crash. Andre arrives on the scene, using his telekinetic abilities to gently guide the crashing helicopter to a safe landing. Andre and Marie attempt to restrain Cate, but she retaliates by sending Maverick to engage Marie in combat. Initially, Marie struggles, but she quickly harnesses her blood powers to track Maverick and knock him unconscious.

Jordan instructs the board members to board the helicopter. Andre pleads with Cate to start anew with him, and after a moment of hesitation, she acquiesces. Suddenly, Sam emerges from the shadows, lunging at Andre with a furious punch. The two engage in a fierce battle, Sam gripping Andre by the collar. Andre retaliates, using his powers to grasp an electric button and zap Sam with it, sending both of them crashing to the ground.

Marie approaches Cate with determination, attempting to persuade her to halt the chaos unfolding before them. However, Cate remains steadfast, refusing to budge. Suddenly, Marie's gaze falls upon the supes who are poised to strike Jordan. Without hesitation, she unleashes her powers, decimating one of them. Jordan, meanwhile, lunges into action, engaging the remaining foes.

Marie spies one of the supes fleeing towards the helicopter. She summons her abilities, conjuring blood daggers that she thrusts into his back with precision. The attack leaves the supe staggering and falling to the ground. Just as Marie exhales a breath of relief, Cate rushes towards Jordan, her hand stretched out menacingly. Marie panics, her instincts taking over, and she causes Cate's hand to explode in a fiery blast.

The commotion attracts the attention of Homelander, who arrives on the scene with a stern expression. He confronts Marie, accusing her of attacking her own kind. Without hesitation, he unleashes a laser beam, striking Marie. The scene shifts to Homelander watching the news, a smug expression on his face.

The newscaster announces that Marie, Jordan, Andre, and Emma are responsible for the attack, while Sam and Cate are falsely hailed as heroes. Marie awakes in a windowless room, surrounded by Jordan, Emma, and Andre. The four of them are trapped, their fate uncertain. Meanwhile, Billy emerges from the woods, unaware of the drama that has unfolded, marking the end of Gen V Episode 8.
