The scene then shifts to Marie, Emma, and Jordan, who find themselves at Polarity's residence. There, they pore over the files retrieved from the archive library. Marie breaks the news to the group that she will be meeting Pam, the woman featured in a photograph—a close friend of her parents and the foster mother of her sister.

Polarity, ever observant, checks in on Emma, expressing concern for her well-being. Emma offers a reassuring smile and divulges that she has overcome her struggles with binge-eating and purging, a battle she had waged due to underlying mental health issues that caused her to shrink and grow erratically.

Meanwhile, an air of tension lingers between Marie and Jordan. They tread lightly around each other, still reeling from the events that transpired the previous night.

Elsewhere on campus, the students greet Cate's return to God U with jubilant enthusiasm, following the brutal attack she had endured. Stacey escorts Cate to the hero optimization class, where Marie is unexpectedly called upon to demonstrate her mettle to Cipher by besting a fellow student in combat.

Cipher, ever the pragmatist, asserts that with the Supes' numbers dwindling, they must harness their powers with utmost efficiency if they hope to stand a chance against the overwhelming human population.

In a private moment, Cipher pushes Marie further, challenging her to wield her powers without inflicting harm upon herself.

Meanwhile, Justine makes the difficult decision to end her relationship with Sam, who has once again begun to exhibit strange behavior. In Cate's absence, he has started heeding the whispers in his mind.

Jordan confides in Marie, suggesting that she might be the chosen one and revealing that Cipher is attempting to unlock her fullest potential, which could render her a valuable asset to Vought. Marie, eager to dispel any misunderstandings, opens up to Jordan, sharing that they are the very first person she's ever been intimate with. Jordan finds Marie's emotional confession rather peculiar and promptly excuses themselves, leaving Marie feeling a bit lost.

Next, Marie finds herself at Pam's doorstep, where she engages in a heartfelt conversation about her late parents and her sister. Meanwhile, Stacey, seizing the moment of their newfound social media fame—having rocketed to the number one spot—begins plastering Jordan's photos all over campus. She urges them to start promoting various products online and to toe the line with Vought's prescribed narrative about them.

On another front, Cate confronts Cipher about the looming encounter with Marie, Jordan, and Emma, recalling the attack she endured. Cipher advises Cate to stick to the storyline Vought has recommended, cautioning that involving Homelander could lead him to scrutinize Cate, especially given her neural struggles post-accident. He warns that Homelander might uncover her unfitness to be a Supe, risking her expulsion from God U and exclusion from The Seven.

Emma, in her quest to assist the cafeteria server, embarks on a mission to find the Supe who had been tormenting her. Her search leads her into the boys' changing room, where she unexpectedly captures Harper, the culprit. Emma is astounded to discover that Harper can mimic other Supes' powers and even more so when Harper demonstrates a superior mastery of these abilities. Harper pleads with Emma to keep her secret from Justine, fearing being branded as an activist.

In a twist of fate, Sam approaches Cate, seeking her help to silence the voices plaguing his mind. Cate, still reeling from her accident, declines. Enraged, Sam unleashes his fury, wreaking havoc and demolishing the dormitory. Jordan steps in to calm him down, and together, they indulge in smoking pot.

Marie's interaction with Pam starts off as awkward and dismissive. Pam reveals to Marie that she was conceived through IVF at a fertility clinic, contrasting sharply with her sister Annabeth, who was conceived naturally despite their parents' infertility struggles. Marie feels a twinge of insecurity but is taken aback when she spots a photo of Cipher cradling her as a baby among Pam's displayed memories. Pam discloses that Cipher was the doctor who delivered Marie. Curiosity piqued, Marie sneaks a peek into Annabeth's room, noticing signs of her sister's recent visit to Pam's house.

She lays the blame squarely on Pam, accusing her of concealing the truth about her sister's visit. Pam, in turn, confides in Marie that she's been left traumatized by Marie's past actions against their parents. Marie vehemently counters, asserting that she's the true victim, having been drugged by her own parents as an infant against her will. Marie further accuses Pam of making her feel like a monster and causing Annabeth to despise her for reasons beyond her control.

Meanwhile, Emma approaches Harper and her roommate, Allie, with a proposition to join their activist group. Emma reveals that there's a grander scheme they could orchestrate against God U and Vought, far beyond mere graffiti on the walls. Her plan? To sabotage Vought.

Cipher delivers a rousing speech to the student body, emphasizing the significance of maintaining their ranking system. Amidst this, Jordan seeks out Marie and pours their heart out, confessing their deep-seated feelings for her. Marie responds with a passionate kiss, but just as their moment intensifies, Jordan is called upon the stage to celebrate their number-one ranking.

Jordan begins with a pre-written PR speech crafted by Stacey, but then, in a dramatic twist, they shape-shift into their female form. With raw emotion, they recount the tragic death of Andre and boldly expose Vought's murderous actions against the supes. They openly admit to their attack on Cate, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats as the episode hurtles towards a thrilling cliffhanger.
